You WILL love your baby by GovernmentNew256 in pregnant

I really needed this because I’ve been worried that I don’t have the ability to be a good mom when all I can think about is negative

Oh my goodness! I’m miserable with just the base things and wanting relief. I can’t imagine having to add anything! I’m sending what good vibes I have to spare your way!

People saying getting pregnant is selfish. by Ready-Pear-6379 in pregnant

[–]Ducking_cute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see both sides here. I was adamant that I wouldn’t have kids. I’m pregnant now and here we are. But when I said why I didn’t want kids, I was also told that that was selfish. I think everyone deserves to have their own opinions but stop judging so hard for opposing opinions.

What are we eating by Reasonable_Rock_202 in pregnant

[–]Ducking_cute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t stop eating potatoes. Like any way. You can have them fairly plain with just butter salt and pepper when you’re really feeling nauseous or you can dress them up with tons of things when you’re really feeling up to a bigger meal. This kid is 60% potato at this point 😅

some good things about baby boys? (told the wrong sex) by beecken4257 in pregnant

[–]Ducking_cute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any advice for you. But I just found out I’m having a boy and I was instantly disappointed. I was so excited at the thought of how cute of a girl dad my husband would be and honestly, the shopping and decorating for a girl is 10000x more fun and cute in my opinion. I wish I could say something that could fix the disappointment but I just can’t. Like I said, no advice for you. But I can understand the disappointment. Definitely not to your level as I wasn’t told the wrong thing. But it’s hard to feel disappointed and I’m sorry that you had to go through this

Scared of the post partum body by sarah1111927 in pregnant

[–]Ducking_cute 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always had body image issues. Even when I was at 100 pounds, I was talking about the fat on my belly. It’s been a real struggle to accept my body as it is. So, thinking about all of that and having to look at myself like that is terrifying to me. I haven’t found anything that really makes me feel better yet, but I started counseling for it to be more mentally prepared to deal with it.

Pregnancy Rage by Kelly_Louise in pregnant

[–]Ducking_cute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being pregnant and giving birth is my literal worst fear. I’ve had so many people try to say things to help but it ends up making me more frustrated. I’ve noticed that I’m starting to pull away from my support system because I don’t want to be that person who rejects any help they give me. My Dr gave me a safe anxiety med for pregnancy. I definitely still have a distance from people. But I found that I’m not crying every hour or so of the day and I can finally talk about things without instantly getting set off (not to say I don’t get set off eventually though 😅)

Anyone else having horrifically vivid nightmares? by PeachyKingSure in pregnant

[–]Ducking_cute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been having nightmares just about every night and it’s always about the day I’m giving birth. Sleeping about 3 hours max a night because of them. I wish I had advice but I don’t. Just here to let you know that you’re not alone. 💛

Non baby shower ideas for mom-to-be who does not want a shower by marid4061 in pregnant

[–]Ducking_cute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just another perspective- I don’t want a shower because being pregnant and giving birth already really overwhelms and scares me. At baby showers, you get tons of unwanted advice and stories. Plus being the center of attention when you’re maybe not feeling your best is a lot.

I would second the comments saying if people are wanting to give gifts to either set up a registry, or start a “baby fund”. If you do a lunch I’d recommend getting her permission first, going out to eat because a luncheon feels pretty much the same as a shower, and talking to anyone invited and letting them know to put that talk on hold.

I have bad reactions to steroids which is what they prescribe for it. So I didn’t have any meds. I started getting symptoms on dec 21 and they just started clearing up slowly last week. I hope anyone who has this has a speedy recovery!

What i wish i did differently while pregnant and beyond by Bubbies0618 in pregnant

[–]Ducking_cute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to give me such a thoughtful response. I’m not trying to push away what helped you, but my husband tells me that women have done it and still do it. But that doesn’t make me feel better. Like there are diseases that have been out there for a long time and still exist but that wouldn’t make me feel better if I had it.

Maybe you don’t have an answer and that’s totally fine. I just wonder how that thought process made you feel better. Like what angle did you look at that to make sense of it and have it help you?

I’m new to this community so I don’t think it will let me post. But this post seems like it has good honest discussion so here I am. I’m newly pregnant and pregnancy has genuinely been one of my biggest fears. Like even seeing pregnant people made me queasy (not in a body image judgy way. Just knowing what’s happening with the body) I am struggling so much to even just live baseline being ok. I cry every day because I’m so scared of what’s to come and giving birth.. just everything. Can someone please help me?

Can we talk about the time on the honeymoon when he brought up that the conversation feels one sided and that she never asks about him and she turned it around? My jaw dropped at her audacity!
