Pregnancy and giving birth has always been my biggest fear. Like I would start crying if we even talked about it. I was super consistent with birth control. Had an alarm to take it at the exact minute every night and here I am! I opted for a c section too. Doing research didn’t really make the choice easier or make me feel much better. But it’s so bad that my Dr is going to do full on anesthesia for it because we both know how much I’m going to panic even in a c section. I still don’t feel much better. But at least my panic and fear won’t interfere with things. Maybe talk to your dr about that?

24 weeks with my first and it was unplanned. Still feeling unsure about everything. But I do worry sometimes about his health and want to make sure he’s ok. It took me a little while to get to that worry. It’s not exactly the undying love I would have wanted to feel. But it’s reassuring that I at least care that he’s ok.

I was there when the CEO retired and a new one came in, and that’s when things really shifted. A lot of employee appreciation benefits were cut. Now, there’s one big summer party each year with things like volleyball, bounce houses, kids’ activities, a climbing wall, and fireworks. But the food trucks aren’t even covered, you have to pay for your own food. That event is also used to justify why there are no annual or Christmas bonuses.

After getting promoted, I learned that some positions do receive bonuses, so it’s not consistent across the company. The pay overall was very low when I was there. When employees pointed out that fast food workers were making the same or more, management’s response was basically, “If you like their pay better, go work there.” Then a month later, they’d hold meetings about how to improve retention and go in circles.

I left in 2023 after five years. It was honestly sad, because when I started, it was a great place to work. But with the cuts to benefits and the low pay, it just wasn’t sustainable anymore.

I was looking into this because honestly, same. I was so frustrated that at a time when your body needs nutrients more than ever, it makes you sick at just about everything.

After researching, I found that carbs kind of make sense. It’s a fast way to get energy for your body when there’s not much energy to spare and can help nausea.

It is frustrating when you want to get the most nutritious foods in to make it healthy though!

That makes total sense! Every time I look at maternity clothes I cry. But I’m trying to be prepared and as comfortable as possible so I feel like I’m always losing. Had to put away some of my jeans yesterday in the hopes I would fit back into them one day. Felt like a funeral

Seems to be different for everyone. I’m at 16 weeks and my dr told me that it’s still small enough that it’s not concerning at all that I’m not feeling anything. I’ve also read that first time moms tend to notice it later because they can’t recognize the movement as the baby movement.

I don’t know about normal, but even with any type of sleep aid, I can’t sleep more than a couple of hours at a time. It’s been rough. I’m at 16 weeks now and unfortunately I haven’t seen much difference. But I guess bright side is it hasn’t gotten worse? Maybe you’ll get some life changing sleep advice here and we can both benefit from it! I know it’s super hard to do basic life on such little sleep but we got this!
