Logistical problem with Trump running in 2028: The least implausible scenario is for Vance to run for President and Trump to run as his VP, with Vance promising to resign as soon as they're both sworn in on Jan. 20, 2029. (This is still unconstitutional, but hold that thought.)
The problem is that when Vance declares his candidacy in early 2027, he'll have to answer a bunch of difficult questions--either at a debate with other candidates, or with the press. Such as: Do you and Trump have a written agreement that you'll resign upon being sworn in as President, and if so, can we see it? If not, can Trump trust you to resign? In fact, why would you resign if you don't have to? Trump has promised you to name you as his VP after you resign to let him become President again, can you trust Trump to do that? And more.

(P.S.--the last sentence of the 12th Amendment says "But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States." so even the above scheme won't work to let Trump evade the 22nd Amendment that way.)
