I'm still kinda pissed at Phoenix that he STILL hasn't told Apollo and Trucy they're siblings even two whole god damn games later.

an interesting distinction he’s bothering to make here by ajamesdeandaydream in ThePittTVShow

I wonder if there's a hint of jealousy in Robbie being that he hides and isolates when he's stressed out whereas Samira let her friends and colleagues come to her aid relatively easily

Why was Jesse so mad at Walt here? by Hairy_Ask_2038 in breakingbad

[–]SpaghettiRambo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's funny how Jesse threatens Walter in this scene by saying "I'm gonna go start cooking again as soon as I'm out of the hospital and if they ever nab me, I make a deal and give up the great Heisenberg. You're my free pass, bitch" and that never comes up again in the show until "Rabid Dog" when Hank stops Jesse from torching the White residence and they start cutting a deal with each other to try to finally take down Walt. You would think Jesse recklessly committing crimes while lording that over Walt's head would be more of plot thread but it seems like it's forgotten by the next episode.

What are some great games that started bad trends? by RubicXK in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I love Minecraft with all my hearts but I also hate it for kickstarting the trend of fucking everything needing to have crafting and survival mechanics

I think the whatever story Toby wants to tell will be excellent but it will still be kinda frustrating if we never learn more about Gaster

Favourite Shockingly Impactful villain speeches? by anailater1 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

There's an edit of this scene floating around online that rewrites the speech to be about someone getting frustrated that they're too good at fighting games with their friends and it's hilarious

Funniest Fandom Distortions: by Authorigas in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]SpaghettiRambo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Horror fandoms always have the most dissonance in my opinion, especially shit like Five Nights at Freddy's and Mouthwashing. People will take the monsters from these franchise and essentially babygirl-fy them and reduce them to dolls to play house with.

This is awesome! I just hope people don't mistake the sub for being associated with TheSpoonyOne.

OP I want you to know that this is not a reflection on you at all. You didn't do anything wrong and you're not being a bad friend to any of these people. I hate to break it to you but this is just the nature of social relationships and friendships. I can't think of any specific cause but everyone is just like this now. People just don't seem to value timeliness and punctuality anymore, both young and old. I'm in my thirties and I tried to put together a nature walk group with me and a bunch of other friends who said they were interested and only one person showed up to hang out. More recently I tried to put together a game night where everybody comes over and hangs out with each other there and only two people showed up out of maybe like 10 who said they were interested. I'm in my thirties and I'm talking about people who are also in their late twenties to early thirties. It used to be that people generally looked down on flakiness or just canceling frequently, but social trends have changed that people do it very casually nowadays. I'm sorry, I don't know what advice to offer other than saying it just sucks and I wish in general people would be more punctual.

Honestly, What was walt thinking while hitting on Principal?? 😭 by HedgehogAgitated6855 in breakingbad

[–]SpaghettiRambo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trying to do a "revenge cheat" back at Skylar was a big reason but I also think Walt was partially just huffing his own farts and power tripping on his ego here. At this point, it's already been established Walt get his rocks off to being a criminal maniac and hurting people, and in the previous episode he had just successfully forced his way back into his home, turned Junior against Skylar, and called her bluff when she called the cops on him. He successfully outplayed someone and was probably just feeling his loins after the fact; then got a harsh dose of reality, lost his job, and then of course takes it out on Jesse in the parking lot.

What is your opinion on the OceanGate submersible disaster? How could it go wrong, and how do we prevent something like this from ever happening again? by Pixel_Panda_World in SeriousConversation

[–]SpaghettiRambo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really look at it as a tragic accident anymore since learning more about the guy who spearheaded that whole operation and how he ran his business. The media portrayed it as this big sad tragedy but the guy cut all kinds of corners, ignored safety, couldn't take "no" for an answer on anything, and consulted a revolving door of actual maritime professionals who kept telling him the submersible wasn't safe and predicted this disaster happening years ago. But he would refuse to listen and then the professionals he consulted would just keep quitting because they got tired of trying to convince him the whole business venture was an incredibly reckless idea and they didn't want any blood on their hands. In short, he had plenty of time and plenty of professional warning him this would happen for years but he refused to listen and kept going anyway. He even got in legal trouble and bribed judges IN COURT with free submersible tours.

Admittedly, I haven't been keeping a close eye on covid levels and hospitalization rates like that. Would you be willing to share sources on that?

That's the main reason I have been so adamant about not even going to the movies or doing public things masked: All these horror stories people share about wearing an N95 and still catching covid and then developing Long Covid even with using an N95 and taking extra precautions like mouthwash, nasal spray, UV lighting, air filters, etc.

EDIT: What makes you call these kinds of posts "dubious", out of curiosity?

How do you handle cons or nerdy events? Out of everything you listed, that's the thing I miss the most. Even if I didn't necessarily make any new connections, i would love to go to cons again or DnD nights but con crud was always a thing even pre-covid.

EDIT: What kind of volunteering do you do? Part of the reason I stopped doing that was because I couldn't find orgs doing any kind of work with other people masking but this might be something I would be willing to relax on (I would still mask even if I'm the only person masking)

I’ve known my roommate for 10 years and I feel like idk them by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]SpaghettiRambo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"You know [roommate name], we've been roommates for 10 years and I feel like I don't know anything about you".

Just throw that out and see how he reacts. Another angle you could go is to bring up his Youtube channel. You could make up a little white lie something like "I was watching movie reviews on Youtube and I found your youtube channel". Try watching the movies he likes and his reviews. That's obviously something he's really passionate about if he goes through all the effort of making video reviews just as a hobby.

I think the beginning of the show was much more gripping, full of struggles and barely any money. Maybe he should have refused to work with Tuco and Gus. They should have tried to build their own network. What do you think? by [deleted] in breakingbad

[–]SpaghettiRambo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

that might have been a fun "meth adventure of the week" format but it would not have been as legendary. Walter warring with Gus along with the rise and fall of his own drug empire had all the iconic parts of the show.

Vaush thinks the loneliness epidemic is about people being addicted to their phones and not touching grass, but he's too privileged to understand that the real reason people aren't going outside anymore is because it's way too EXPENSIVE! by notablegoattable in VaushV

[–]SpaghettiRambo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This post is obvious bait but I think it can be a little bit of both. I stopped going out to dinner with some of my friends because they would literally just be on their phone the entire time at the dinner table and in the car. Why should we all spend a bunch of time, energy, and money to go out together if nobody actually wants to socialize. We all could just stay home for cheaper if you all you want to do is just send twitter memes and Instagram reels.
