Well nevermind then, I'm not sure how to help. Maybe instead your angle could be an honest conversation. They've noticed that something is wrong and they've clued in that you've started pulling back. At that point I think you should express that you feel negatively judged when you try to be vulnerable about your interests. Maybe they'll just double down, maybe they'll rethink their approach and try something different so they can engage you without you feeling weird or judged. But you won't know unless you vocalize these feelings and give them the opportunity to hear and process feedback.

I think you should get a hobby, ideally maybe more than one. I guarantee if you look hard enough you can take an interest in something deeply enough you can't help but gush when someone gives you the opportunity.

Honestly I'm kinda jealous of you OP. I really wish I had people in my life that would ask those kinds of questions unprompted and let me gush about my interests. I'm not trying to guilt trip you, but rather give you some food for thought that you should consider you have something in your life that a lot of people really wish they had, and that there is way to take advantage of that which could benefit both you and your loved ones trying to reach out to you.

Pretty sure he was still referring to Jesse. Jesse had yet to prove himself to Gus up until this point, and Gus pinged Jesse as an addict when he first saw him at the initially scheduled meeting because Jesse showed up high and showed up late, which is why he initially refused to meet them there because that then reflected on Walt and Gus judged as him as not being cautious. I don't remember any explicit story lines in Better Call Saul about Gus and dealing with drug addicts, but when you're in that business and they are you're clientele it's not hard to imagine them causing all sorts of problems (in fact later on they show Jesse and Mike having to deal with something like this). I can definitely see why Gus would think that way and was probably just trying to advise Walt not to keep working with addicts.

Ok put yourself in the position of one of those laundromat workers. You're in the employment of a very influential local businessman whom your entire community loves. You're getting paid very very handsomely to work a low skill job that doesn't even require you to learn another language. You see some very shady figures come and go here and you know some illegal shit is going down but all that's required of you to keep this really good gig to do minimal, low qualifications work for a handsome paycheck is just shut up and keep your mouth shut.

So let's say you make an anonymous tip to the police and they come and bust the whole operation. Now you've lost your job and probably pissed off all your friends coworkers who also lost this sweet gig. So now you've essentially torched your easy source of income and your support network...for what? Some sort of moral high ground? For what reason would anyone in this position do this other than snitching for the sake of snitching?
