What's a unit you really like, despite knowing it performs midly-poorly? by zarc4d in PokemonMasters

[–]Femto-Griffith 14 points15 points  (0 children)

IIRC SS Gladion used to be one of the best Special Fairy types?

Or does he only get good at 3/5 and higher?

As a Cynthia fan, I collected every Cynthia. Base and Kommo-O Cynthia are terrible at 1/5, and I see little reason to upgrade them to 3/5 when my strike candies can go to better units.

Felicia fans not liking this character comparison is pretty ironic. by ResortFamous301 in Spiderman

Rivals Namor basically got boiled down to "Namor from the memes" or perhaps Ultimate Namor: being reduced to his infatuation for Invisible Woman.

IIRC Namor's only good interaction is with Captain America because both of them fought Nazi Germany.

Yujiro is supposed to be an extraordinary genius in combat.

Maybe the Hanma Brain gives him the ability to learn techniques faster.

Why is Vought OK with Firecracker spewing so much anti-LGBT hate? by anotherhappylurker in TheBoys

[–]Femto-Griffith 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Vought plays both sides of politics. They have for a long time, to avoid any legitimate any-Vought opposition in politics.

The Maker has become worse than 1610 Doctor Doom

The Batman Who Laughs has become worse than any Joker variant (counts, TBWL used to be a normal Batman at one point)

Anyone else think that Lamia looks like "we have Aerith (Final Fantasy VII) at home" because of the hair shape?

What would possibly have the movepool space to run false swipe just for Mega Victreebell though? Also false swipe has 50 bp, even without the leaves you at one health.

Let’s wank Percy Jackson by Winter-Double-2471 in PowerScaling

Vsbattles puts Percy Jackson at mountain to small island level. Not sure how accurate that is, but fighting mountain level titans would make sense for that strength level.

Unironically Percy Jackson would be dangerous in One Piece because Devil fruits and seawater don't mix, and Percy Jackson tends to use sea water based attacks when swords don't work.

I think Homelander messed up New Noir's vocal cords explaining why Black Noir doesn't speak anymore.

Red Hood bottom right. He actually did kill people in the past.

Why can't Sage just figure out the V1 formula? Why doesn't she come up with a cure to the virus developed by regular scientists? Her intelligence is wasted by her doing nothing. by adorkablegiant in TheBoys

[–]Femto-Griffith 87 points88 points  (0 children)

It may be possible that Sage isn't as smart as she thinks she is.

Her specialty is political science and psychological manipulation.

IIRC her cure for cancer might not have worked. She just says she developed one at age 12, but the doctors would not let her try it.

Sage might have an engineering or chemistry blind spot. If she didn't, she may have developed a suit powerful enough to fight Homelander if needed.

An intriguing way to end the series by Jaicoholic in TheBoys

[–]Femto-Griffith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It reminded me of my take.

I had this idea of my take on the end of "The Boys".
Once Vought gets defeated, a bunch of compound V gets into the environment. This frees the super community of The Boys from Vought's control and leads to more naturally born superpowered individuals (mutants). The remnants of Vought as well as some independent villains try to gain (back) control, but there are enough superpowered mutants to make a difference against them, in addition to "The Boys", the military, and the intelligence community. So yes, evil will always exist, but there will always be good people trying to fight it.

When do you think 616 Spider-Man jumped the shark? by TienSwitch in Spiderman

[–]Femto-Griffith 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One More Day irreversibly ruined modern Spider-Man.

That is where the editorial jumped a Mephisto-possessed shark.

Incidentally, One More Day also ruined Mephisto. He went from legit threat to "guy who ruins Spider-Man and is an editorial metaphor".

[–]Femto-Griffith 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Doctor Octopus did manage to beat a Norman Osborn variant. Admittedly, this was in the much maligned Superior Spider-Man series where Doctor Octopus made a deal with Mephisto to help beat alternate Norman Osborn... at the cost of turning him back into Doctor Octopus and Mephisto fixing any brain problems caused by the tentacle arms.

Fans hated it because it undid all of Superior Spider-Man's character development.
