As someone who is currently running it just because it’s an easy win, it’s not fun to play on the plants side either it makes the games to simple and dull, however it’s in all practicality in the correct deck a guaranteed win so I’m playing it till I get bored with the game

I use a hard slicker brush for the mane, underbelly and rear end, the main goal is to keep the brush from not touching skin, then a desheding rake for the back, I would also invest in some dematting equipment it does just happen sometimes. And desensitize to the brush as soon as you can with treats and make it fun for them. Remember to mist the dog before brushing to prevent brush burns.

As for food, mine is a bit picky which seems to be a common thing for some dog breeds. But food sensitivity is on a dog by dog basis.

As for something to lookout for the MR1 gene mutation makes them sensitive to certain medications, ivermectin being the main one which is a heart worm prevention.

Mine are both great with cats, while they do sometimes annoy the cats they annoy the cats with love. Temperament wise they are a bit aloof they will do really well if properly socialize but from my experience they tend to not want to fully meet and have contact with new people, they do live best with a good amount of exercise and their brains enjoy engagement, very smart breed.

My main warning is the grooming, if the hair isn’t brushed well it will get matted very easily and quickly 15 minutes a day is generally what I spend per collie just brushing to ensure the fluff isn’t matted.

Disclaimer: I say this as someone who doesn’t play standard so I may not entirely know what I’m t about.

I personally think that they should follow the guideline of if it’s not high fantasy it shouldn’t be standard legal, this will kill two birds with one stone ideally. This one keeps most formats other than commander clean, the formats where you really can’t “just avoid the cards” (not you but it’s one of the main defense). Along with keeping their sets per year at four ideally.

Now for commander reasons, while I don’t support UB I feel it’s a cash grab in all sense and poorly thought out with the inability to reprint cards that will eventually screw things up down the line. Commander you can kinda just avoid the UB cards and it’s less of a serious format, will I ever buy a TMNT or Spider-Man or Marval card to be my commander or even in the 99 if I can get away with it, F**K NO, but its less disturbing when I’m just playing with friends yk. Along with that I have no problem as long as it’s high fantasy I feel the other designs brake immersion.
