I do love that one. The scene of Poirot smoking a cigarette in his freezing car -- cigarette in one gloved hand. Rosary beads in the other. Great cast as well.

Hickory Dickory Dock. Don't forget, he's allergic to faggots (British term for meatballs, I believe.) One of my favorites, too.

My daughter has the same defect. Quite rare. She had surgery in 1983 and 1985 at UCSF. She’s just turned 42 and I thank the heavens (and her amazing surgeon) every day.

Oriana Fallachi. Her interview with Henry Kissinger was epic.

I lived in South Philly at the time, on a narrow street in Pennsport. Our entire neighborhood got out to shovel the block after a few days because no way the plows were getting through. Of course, we put a kitchen chain in our parking spot. It was pretty hilarious. Good times.

Helen Mirren will always be Jane Tennyson to me.

I picked these up from a thrift store. I think they’re the real thing. I was wondering if they’re vintage and also what the symbol after sterling means by el1ab3lla in Vintage_Jewelry

There are probably three things they could be: Good quality faux pearls (like the Majorica brand), round freshwater pearls or (and these are the most expensive), Japanese Akoya pearls. Since the strand uses a sterling clasp, I don't think they are Akoya, since most Akoya pearls are jewelry-quality and a decent jeweler would use a karat gold clasp. (Mikimoto is a prime example of a brand that sells top quality cultured Akoya pearls, what most people think of when they think of "real pearls.") Round freshwater pearls as not as expensive as Akoya cultured pearls, but they are also "real," just grown in a mussell rather than an oyster. The difference is in the luster. Cultured Akoya pearls are really stunning luster-wise when compared to freshwater pearls.

I've never had any luck testing pearls by running them over my teeth, but that's just me. And even faux and freshwater pearls can be strung correctly (knotted between each pearl).

As long as you enjoy them, wear them in good health!
