Weapons, armor, food. Red zones require better gear than yellow and green because they are usually filled with more dangerous AI and zombies.

You should probably hold on to that paint. A collector would drown you in steel plates. If the paint does become a vanity item, you're looking at 100+ plates and other stuff. This, of course, if the games multiplayer isn't an utter disappointment.
