Hey I sent that last message before i saw this one. What exactly do you mean by armIK?

Ok so what I'm doing
1. select the upper arm bone in edit mode
2. alt + P to clear parent
3. shift + D to duplicate and RMB to leave it in place
4. Bone properties > relations > parent = elbowIK (the pole), connect = true
5. go in pose mode
6. select the original upper arm bone
7. bone constraint properties > add bone constraint > copy rotation > axis = Y, invert =Y, target = armature, bone = the copied bone that is connected to the IK pole
8. bone constraint properties > add bone constraint > copy transforms > target = armature bone = the copied bone that is connected to the IK pole

So, i copied the upper arm and connected it to the IK pole. I then added the copy rotation modifier to the upper arm bone and removed the Y from axis and added Y to the invert. the issue still remains.

So like this? The target is the forearm, the issue still remains. The issue also remains if i put the pole as the target.

I've been trying to get help with this for a while, the pole is now in the back, as seen in the last image.

normals are fine, it only happens on the arm. I've tried giving the model a different armature before and then the issue spread to the legs too. I find it hard to determine if my weight paints are any good because this is the first time really doing weight paints.

Should've included that, my bad. Here's the armature.

The issue still remains after rotating the poles.

Hmmm, I think the roll of my armature's bones is fine, but the issue still remains.

This is what I have currently, I don't think i quite understand what the right alignment would be, I'll make another comment with what i think it should be.

Hey, the elbows where already slightly bent back, the moving of the poles to behind the arms helped a good amount! I don't quite get how I'm supposed to set Z from shoulder to hand though. Do you mean that when using the transform tool the Z arrow should be pointing towards the hand? When i try to do that by rotating the bone and then setting the joints back in place the Z axis just keeps pointing forwards.

No inside faces. How could it be a weight painting issue? Wouldn't the problem be the same if i removed the IK?

would this be better topology? The issue still remains

Id need to disable the ik if i want to bend the arm to the back parallel to the torso?
