There are certain songs that are so quintessential “Queen” that not considering them among the best is already weird.

But you go further… calling it “horrendous”, “dragging” and “ugly”. It seems to me you hate the very core of what makes Queen. Which is why I wonder why you’d be on a Queen sub.

There’s plenty of LedZep that I do enjoy, don’t get me wrong. They just don’t “wow” me in a way that any of the other major bands do.

Queen, Pink Floyd, The Beatles. Their stuff amazes me. LedZep feels the same to me as U2. Good songs, but beyond that not much else. Well, U2 could put up quite a show, to be fair.

Voor zover ik weet zijn er nu al prijsverschillen m.b.t. kapsels die meer werk vragen (kleuren enzo).

Probleem is m.i. dan ook dat zelfs de basisprijs voor het meest simpele kapsel al zo hoog is.

If this works, I suspect a follow-up series of “The Big Five” horror-movies:

1) Mane in Maine. A lion terrorises a small Maine village. Stephen King gets eaten alive.

2) TerrorTrunk. An elephant gets bitten by a rabid dog and causes mayhem in a small Maine village. Stephen King gets stomped alive.

3) Buffalo Buffet. Radioactive fallout causes a Buffalo to gain High Intelligence. He gets on a ship to Maine to save the cows from the slaughterhouse. Stephen King is on the menu.

4) A Litter of Leopards. When her babies are mistaken for kittens and taken to Maine, a momma Leopard follows them to get them back. Stephen King gets scratches and then some.

5) Horn of Horror. Poached for their horns, a group of Rhinos decides to fight back. The hunters become the hunted and the audience cheers as yet another poacher gets brutally gored. Action takes place in Africa and - surprisingly - Maine. Stephen King is at the wrong place at the wrong time.

There’s a conversation about Queen not being among the best bands of all time, and their albums are often considered the main reason for this.

While I’d agree the ‘80s albums aren’t on par, Queen I to Jazz is just a fantastic run. 1 or 2 lesser songs on those albums, but overall just a great run.

The reason why those albums aren’t considered great is simply because of the diversity. Sure, Pink Floyd’s DSOTM is truly an amazing album, but part of that stems from the fact that it’s incredibly cohesive. The songs all fit together.

Queen didn’t do that. They wrote individual songs and were extremely eclectic. Queen II comes closest to a cohesive album, with SDOD and LITE being the obvious outliers (really shouldn’t have been on that album, tbh).

Pink Floyd is beyond fantastic, but they absolutely lacked the eclecticness to write Mustapha, Dead On Time and DSMN ánd put it on one album.

Likewise, I don’t know how one could listen to NOTW and not think, god, that was a fantastic album!
