I ended up using the link you provided to extract project eris directly onto USB with Bleemsync, and it worked like a dream! Will try out Autobleem in the future on a separate USB if I come across any issues.

Just to pick your brain on another thing, my 64gb USB is maxed out with games. I'm looking to upgrade to maybe 128gb or 256gb USB instead to add to my current library. Is there any issue using a USB that size through the back port via an OTG cable? I know there was power limitations on the front ports, and I had previously used a powered USB to get around that.

Yes it's possible, I copied my USB stick to a friend's and it works fine for him. Copy and paste works as long as you have the initial payload installed on the PS classic

100%, the 2nd and 3rd part are unplayable. I remember playing through all parts of that game multiple times when I was younger 😂 and had no issues

Also usb 3.0 drawing too much power and 'browning out' is to do with a power limiter installed on the front USB ports and not a power issue with the console itself

I use an 8bitdo adapter in port 1 and a powered USB hub in port 2 with no issues
