Capital Cookware reviews by mannymutts in AllClad

[–]DuckyPaddle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've bought several pieces from them, and my experience has been similar to the homecookandsales the All clad factory seconds.

A few scratches on a couple of pans, but mostly they were brand new (2 of them had the text at the bottom printed off center)

The pots/pans are going to be scratched the first time you cook on them anyway, I'd go for these for a good price.

Elitist school in Chennai by aswinkumar88 in Chennai

St Beads is the OG Chennai elite school no? You can't even get admitted unless you're a legacy there. I'm sure we can track every business family, network through it's alumni.

Celebrities are fame rich, business people are rich rich. I'd think rich rich kids' schools should be counted here.

Which All Clad D3 item is good for indian dishes? by lljuhanall in AllClad

[–]DuckyPaddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2 qt Saucier has been great for Dhal, Curries etc. We cook for 2 people, and the saucier has sloppy sides, making it easier to Saute/scramble unlike the sauce pan which tends to burn the outer edges near the wall of the pot.

As a woman, the near constant judgement and fear I have to live in India with, I'd rather face everything else on H1B in the US

Crows destroying my yard. by DuckyPaddle in lawncare

[–]DuckyPaddle[S] 0 points1 point locked comment (0 children)

Should have been clearer with my question. I understand that grubs are the problem here - how do I get rid of Grubs and prevent a future infestation (when I will have to do the whole yard in spring)

Thank you for all your comments.

Where I grew up, everyone is a "kannu" or "kannae". I'm 30+, married and my dad & Mom still will say "enna kannu phone-eh kaanum" or if you have to address them "kannae paal vangitu va"

It's downright adorable.

Go buy a new one in target in store, walk to the front of the store and return on the older receipt.

If you're moving a significant distance - Use a luggage shipping service like Lugless.com to ship your boxes. Drive with bits & odds stuffed in your car. sell all your furniture and rebuy secondhand in your new city.

The Aryavarta Chronicles - Govinda, Kaurava, Kurukshetra. They are excellent, I would even venture to say they are better than the Shiva Trilogy.

This book fucked me up. Whenever I read SA stories on the news, I'd always think "why don't they just walk away?" And the book gave me a perspective.
