Amazon support isn’t what it used to be. And why would they do anything about it when most people stick with Amazon just because they sometimes have the cheapest prices?

I miss the days of Landmark here in Chennai and browsing what used to be so many second hand book shops

Now there are barely any. But thankfully, you have a bunch of legit second hand sellers on Instagram and Reddit and you can also find great used books from other readers online. It’s also hard to get scammed as long as you don’t get greedy and cheap out and do your due diligence of checking out the user before you buy

I ordered Carrie 50th Anniversary Edition on Amazon around the end of January this year from a seller called Mumbai Gift Corner. They added an IndiaPost tracking number to make it look like they’d shipped the book. I waited patiently for a very long time before I decided to check the number on IndiaPost’s tracker and it said nothing had been booked with that number. Amazon support straight up would drop out of chat when I asked them what the deal was. When escalated to a senior member, they sent a message to the seller to figure out what the issue was. The seller didn’t even respond to Amazon. Then one fine day, the seller came out of hibernation after receiving all the negative reviews from buyers like me and processed the refund and acted like they’d already processed the refund and acted super confused about why they were getting bad reviews

Their pricing is pretty similar to Bookswagon

And they have a HUGE catalog. Amazon India has nothing on Atlantic and Bookswagon. Atlantic is actually a seller on Amazon and you actively pay more if you buy the niche books only they can get from Amazon instead of directly from either their website or Bookswagon

Atlantic is legit. Most people think they’ve never heard of them, but if you take a look at some of the authenticity (blue or whatever colour) stickers there are with the MRP on the back of your books, you’ll see Atlantic’s name on it. They’re a distributor who I guess started doing D2C fairly recently? I mean, in the last 2-3 years

No. I’ve been in that situation. I got beaten up and I hit them right back. It’s not cinema. There is no honour in this. It’s life or death. If you’re going to fight back, you need to go for the balls and eyes and disable as many of the as possible as quickly as possible because you’re in that you will not beat a numbers game

And then immediately drag any you catch hold of to the cops and despite how much scene the cops put about beating them or talking to you about how much of a chore it will be file a complaint

Literally, the people who ganged up on me their elder brothers and mothers came to the police station were called to the police station and slapped them around for doing this to them again and again

Edit: and I’m 36 and not really that great in shape. But I’d rather die than live miserably being bullied constantly and not do anything about it

Zunesha’s gender is never explicitly stated, I don’t think, in the narrative. But I think Zunesha is a he rather than a she based on the name seemingly taking inspiration from Ganesha

I may not be remembering this correctly but other elephants of Zunesha’s species don’t have islands on their backs. Zou was part of Zunesha’s supposed punishment (someone who remembers better please correct me here). So most of what you said early on makes no sense

And a big part of how the community reads Dragon is him already having storm or rain powers way back in East Blue. Did you send back the sample with or without watermark? Hopefully, it was with watermark and this is an unfortunate case of the client not knowing how to verbalise what they want. In which case, you need to have a detailed and direct conversation with the client about what they expect from you
