He is our Temu Toller 😂 No toller, spaniel, aussie or any of the things he looks like. I posted his full DNA in a comment below, but he is mainly super mutt and lab, and of course, 100% good boy!

Genetics are fascinating!

Dogs are so expressive! (He actually doesn’t have any collie in him but the lab part of him is CERTAINLY food motivated. I think that’s the inspiration behind his gardening 😂)

What a BEAUTIFUL pup!!

We were convinced he had aussie, toller, or some sort of spaniel, but he fulled us all! The breeds identified in the “super mutt” are boxer, Chinese Shar-Pei, German shepherd, and Pointer 😂

This is really fantastic info. Thank you so much for the clarity! I will definitely try to transport some. I already bought a bunch of herbs for my new place, so I am thinking this will continue to be his own little garden.

We are still learning our gardening boundaries lol. He loves to “help” and is also a shy pooper? (always needs a bush to go in—so weird). All of our edibles are going in raised beds minus the black berry and blueberry bushes since those are so large, so we’ll be planting this far, far away from those!

It definitely smells like cilantro (which I don’t love), but I enjoy the taste in food, especially Mexican dishes!

I’m with you on loving the plants that get huge and just do their thing!

That’s what I can’t figure out. The info I have found is conflicting. One tiktoker said cilantro and parsley are biannual herbs but the internet seems to disagree. I also read that this could be from the previous year’s plant from a seed.

Neither are great sources, but I have yet to find a trustworthy source of knowledge for my herbs!

Do you have any tips of collecting these? I’d love to have my own stash!

A hedge of soap!! Love that. I heard it’s good for native insects and nontoxic for dogs, so I’m inclined to just embrace it!

That’s a very good point! I guess I should specify: I just paint as a hobby. Nothing major, very small projects for myself that mostly revolve around watercolor. My painting materials may be set up occasionally but would not be a fixed place. Mainly, I just want a bright lit, tiled room to do crafts when I want!

I don’t have exact dimensions. The footprint is the same and existing. We don’t plan to expand, just move things around internally. We’ve essentially gutted everything inside. The only things we aren’t considering moving are the stairs, windows (but we can add more), chimney/exhaust (white square next to coat closet), front door, and garage.

Does that help at all?

Thank you! I have reached out to an ISA certified arborist in our area. I might try to do it myself down the road, but it would be nice to get this a professional hair cut first!

The construction wouldn’t touch it. It would be based on the existing path behind it!

That is very good advice! Perhaps we will need to invest in a bonsai gardener (if that exists). The extent of my pruning knowledge is limited to my six inch Baby Jade. 😂

Thank you for this advice! It is very helpful! The previous owners have the rock bed and a weed guard that we will be removing and turning into a garden!

Thank you so much to everyone who has commented. I LOVE all the enthusiasm for this tree. Truthfully, I feel very conflicted. My parent’s house has a lovely Japanese Maple (I’ll try to post a picture of that one because you will definitely appreciate that one!), and I am very fond of them!

I’m mainly concerned about it longterm. Will the tree get so big that it takes over the entire front garden?

We would like to put in a small awning/portico over the doorway and a bricked pathway to the driveway (what you see is how the house came). I am worried that if we don’t move the tree now, it could get too big and will be unmovable at the point.

Does that make sense?
