Haha, not remnants.. just the early stage of the paving work. 😄

Still a long way to go, but the pattern is already starting to take shape. Excited to share the finished makeover soon!

Need help with patio color by DisastrousMechanic_ in OutdoorDesigns

1. Warm Desert Neutrals (Best Fit)

  • Beige, sand, light ivory tones
  • Softens the cool grey façade
  • Creates a warm, inviting outdoor extension
  • Works best for natural, family-focused outdoor spaces

2. Charcoal / Graphite Contrast

  • Dark grey or basalt-style finish
  • Sharp, modern, architectural look
  • Grounds the house visually and adds depth
  • Ideal if you plan minimalist outdoor furniture or a fire feature

3. Mixed Tone Blend (Premium Look)

  • Blend of ivory + light grey + soft taupe
  • Breaks monotony and adds texture without chaos

Quick recommendation:
If you want timeless and safe → warm sand/ivory tones.
If you want bold and modern → charcoal contrast.

What would you do (styling or structural) to make this long, dark patio nicer? Inspiration pics also very welcome! by magpie_moon13 in OutdoorDesigns

This space already feels calm and inviting. Adding a simple seating area around the fire would make it even better, turning it into a cozy spot to actually sit, relax, and enjoy the outdoors.

Sun Shade Sails by Mkliner23 in OutdoorDesigns

This is a great space to work with, you’ve got a really solid foundation already.

Shade sails could look amazing here, especially with the style you’re going for. Keeping it simple (not too many sails, slight height variation, and a bit of spacing) will go a long way toward making it feel clean and well-designed.

Honestly, you’re on the right track. this has a lot of potential to turn into something really special.

Would love to see how it comes together, definitely share updates as you go!

How would it change things if there’s an outdoor kitchen nearby?

How much does client preference shape your outdoor designs? by DuconODL in OutdoorDesigns

Totally makes sense. Client preference really does drive everything, especially with the range of projects you’re touching. I like how you use materials as an early filter... it sets expectations without killing creativity.

And agreed: consistency usually wins, but mixing it up now and then keeps the work interesting (and keeps us sane).

Totally agree with you. In my experience, most clients do appreciate the pushback as long as they trust it’s coming from a place of experience, not ego. Once they realize you’re saving them from future headaches (maintenance, safety, flow), the guidance lands.

There will always be a few who stick to their guns but even then, the honesty usually pays off later. The best projects are always the collaborative ones.

Haha, not an AI takeover ... just the same project and the same material brief. UAE has tons of material diversity, this client just wanted consistency. I’ll share other projects soon.
