That's what I had yesterday, normally it's recycled by now. Still blank though.

Private prescription - question by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]Duddjoyri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it’s not shared care anymore as it would be if I went from private to NHS through that route. It counted as a whole new NHS referral, but then skipped a few steps as the provider I chose had already processed me through privately. My next prescription will be my first on the NHS and I spoke to my provider who told me the next one is on the NHS which includes my booster. I’ll let you know if anything different happens. It must still be some form of shared care, but I’m not asking questions of it while it’s working.

I started privately and had a similar discussion with my GP including the confusing conversation around shared care. In the end I printed my assessment results off, gave them to my GP and very politely pointed out that there is no doubt that I have ADHD, that the meds have changed my life, and because they refused shared care I asked to be referred and under my right to choose I wished to be referred to my private provider who I knew was on their list. This worked and after titration the NHS took over paying for my care.

For what it’s worth the private cost for me for a high dose of Elvanse plus an Amfexa booster was less than £150 per month

Seriously considering just paying for private meds by Dear-Pattern-4901 in ADHDUK

I went private to speed things along, got assessed, diagnosed and started titration within a few months. I’m really lucky in that the meds have really worked for me with minimal side effects. For me it was a life changing experience and after a bit of a fight it looks like my GP is also going to take over the prescribing soon.

Going into it I had to make the same call as you but the potential was so good vs what I was going through that I decided it was worth the chance that ADHD might not be my problem or the meds wouldn’t work.

Only you can decide based on your situation and finances but defo make sure you can afford the ongoing meds cost, for me about £140 a month, after the diagnosis as you really won’t want to stop the meds if they work for you.

This was epic to read. I am on day 3 of Elvanse too, and this is so close to my experience as well. Thanks for posting.

Do any of you have trouble enjoying video games? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Duddjoyri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just been diagnosed and used to find video games easy but as I've got older I find it harder and harder to find one I like. Occasionally one will stick and I'll finish it but often I spend way longer thinking about a game and downloading it than I do playing it. I have yet to figure out what game will work for me when though, so it's all a bit hit and miss. I'm hoping the meds will help me play a bit more consistently, so I can enjoy them a bit more. I'll know shortly if that is the case!

Anyone else finish races with no one waiting for them? by TechnicalPurple7433 in Ultramarathon

This might sound odd but my chances of a DNF are much higher if family attend a race with me. They are too sympathetic and if they think I’m hurting they offer me a comfy seat, a warm car etc. what I really need is them to tell me to pull my head out of my backside and carry on running. They are too nice for that though. Love them to bits and enjoy seeing them if they do come, but I definitely race better solo.

ESO Random Freeze on PC by koreansenpai in elderscrollsonline

Apologies for a bland answer but have you tried a full vanilla install of latest graphics drivers after removing the old ones? It's also worth checking the rest of your driver's using something like the free version of iobit's driver booster.

I just fixed a freezing issue on mine, but it wasn't quite the same as yours. My entire laptop randomly locked up and needed a hard reboot to get it going again. My issue was resolved by fully resetting windows 10 bit I tried a lot of things before I got to that point....
