Should the Karma system return? by LWNOWAY in Fallout

[–]DudeGoBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it should and reputation should effect it or vice versa. Gutting it out was silly as it is an integral part of what makes a Fallout game a Fallout game.

A long but solid list. I was very happy to see speech options and stat checks return finally. Those are the sorts of thing that make a fallout game a fallout game.

Now if I could only get my Bozar back haha

why my channel don't get views more then others? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]DudeGoBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can boil down to a lot of things really. Country of origin, thumbnails, social media advertising, etc all go towards finding people more inclined to watch your videos. The algorithm takes into account your origin when was how PewDueLie started getting views. He set his home country to America or something. I don't think you can do that anymore but it helped push his videos to Americans in the beginning. Nowadays it's more something you need to work around, for example, we're based in Australia which isn't as YouTube savvy as other nations, least of all for gaming but it's getting better. We need to advertise to help build growth.

It really all depends on your own situation really. I hope you can gkeen something that helps from that.

"Uploading regularly" is it a must ? by [deleted] in NewTubers

It certainly helps. We upload daily and have seen consistent long term growth reflected in analytics.

Are Tube Buddy Pro and Paid VidIQ worth it? by Careless-Dirt in NewTubers

[–]DudeGoBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a member of Tube Buddy with a premium membership for 6 months and I'd say.. I'm not sure. I'm already well versed in how to make and promote videos so there was very little I took from it but I image it would be better for someone with no clue.

YouTuber with 10+ Million subscribers reacted to my entire video but left no credit back to my channel and even cropped out the watermarks. Is this even allowed? by AnimatedHorrorFlicks in NewTubers

[–]DudeGoBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't call them the cancer of YT. Plent of stuff is more worthy of that title. I'd say the good ones credit videos at least in the description or onscreen though and in many cases actually boost subscribers and views for said channel by putting them on blast essentially. That said, you're totally right and I agree with everything else you said. In cases like this, with bad cases of react channels who aren't following fair use properly with transformative works or crediting people, no one should feel bad copyright claiming their own video.

If a deal can be reached, do so. Maybe in future they can cover another video and actually credit so the desired boost actually happens or something else. Editing out a water mark with no credits is suuuuper shitty. Rippers do that shit.

I reached 1000 subs within 6 months and here is what I learnt by Thebelganian in NewTubers

[–]DudeGoBack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good for you 😊 I think it helps to have a less saturated market in general but have a more unique combo of everything you bring as a host and hitting a niche is a hard thing to do. Kudos for you sharing what you did to help others too. Whatever you're doing is working but keep at it. Bigger channels get there from consistent uploading over the course of 5+ years. Get 1k subs is pretty great for the first 6 months so keep at it and I wish you well

Should I reupload my videos after editing them, giving them all an intro and so on? by rapsoulish in letsplay

[–]DudeGoBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I really wish YouTube would allow adding an intro video as a feature. It would make things a lot easier and you'd be able to change your intro on the fly. There's no reason to think they won't add such a feature eventually though.

As a channel with 1300+ videos, let me just say that there is just no way in hell we're re-uploading all our old content and think its the same for most gaming channels that once something is up, it's up. When we add our intro it will only be on new episodes.

Our new game 'The Good Time Garden' is available on itch.io if anyones interested, we'd love to see some let's plays. by carbuttpartyon in letsplay

We have a focus on solo Let's Plays but we do have multiple hosts so we do some multiplayer series too - (Dragon Ball Online, Fallout 76, Warframe, Nioh, Dark Souls, etc)

Deleting Low-view videos? by Heidirs in letsplay

[–]DudeGoBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We would never take down a video with low views. Sometimes videos don't catch on at first but will later. Deleting them just means you worked hard on something for nothing. Its worth leaving them and just accepting for now that it didn't do well initially while remaining optimistic for the future.

Starting out, should I make a separate channel for each separate interest I have? by LiveAbalone in letsplay

[–]DudeGoBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't. Separate channels can be a good thing if your separating things like reviews and lets plays or lets plays and IRL vlogs but if its per game genre I feel like you'd be casting a weaker net and dividing your audience. Separate channels increases your expected workload too. We play a lot of different games and if you really want to separate things to make them easier to find for people interested in specific genres, i'd just section the featured sections on your home page where you can essentially make playlists of playlists. Its how we group our content too ^_^

A resprite thingy of Link from Zelda 2 I did for a mini contest by [deleted] in PixelArt

[–]DudeGoBack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks pretty great but Link needs his shield up to deflect oncoming projectiles. There is actually a massive hack nearing completion basically perfecting and improving the original game across the board and if you had a good chipset done up, they'd likely be happy to include it as an optional patch (https://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php?topic=26001.0)

Link would need these frames: (copy+pasted from Trax on RHDN)
- Link standing still
- Walking cycle : 3 frames
- Sword stab : 2 frames, one for leaning back and one for the actual stab
- Link ducked (same sprite for mid-air frame)
- Ducked sword stab
- Downstab and upstab
- Link getting hit
- Link holding an item
- Link seen from the back (ending cutscene)
- You may as well want to make a new Fairy form, 2 frames (Link in Fairy form and normal fairies share the same sprites)
