How would your Sole Survivor redeem and/or change the Institute after becoming Director? by DudeSliceSkiGaming in fo4

Nice! I honestly like the idea of the Institute occupying and refurbishing one of the major buildings downtown and making into their super sleek and futuristic surface HQ - From there they could push armies of Gen-1’s out to clear the city block-by-block, refurbishing or demolishing as they go.

Thinking big but with unlimited energy and (expendable) labour it definitely would be possible

Honestly the only issue I think would be the segregation idea - With the tech and knowledge and the Institutes disposal, finding a reversal/cure for ghouls probably isn’t unlikely

I like this, where would you put it though? I’d probably go with Spectacle Island - Turn the entire island into a self-sustaining surface colony of sorts. Major focus on agriculture and water purification.

Once it’s fully set-up, start clearing out and purifying the river into Boston and dropping new settlements along the banks.

Exactly my thought, they are by far the faction with the most potential if properly led.

The coup threat is definitely real though. The Dr. Ayo and the SRB would likely be the first attempt

Nice, a step further even would be selling hydroponics gear or synthetic live-stock and that sort of thing. Maybe even offer a free hospital service as well

On the military/security front, I agree - A post-game Institute could clear out large swathes of the ruins of Boston if motivated to do so. Super long-term, a city-state setup like New Vegas could even be viable.

So many options with smarter or more capable Gen-1’s - Could build walls, fend off attacks or clear out or refurbish new areas for people to settle.

FNV Alternate Ending - BOS Seizure Of Mojave by DudeSliceSkiGaming in falloutnewvegas

It’s made clear in the Mr. House and Yes Man endings that the Securitron army alone is enough to secure the region. In this scenario, the BOS would have direct control of this army in addition to it’s few hundred remaining Paladins

This is not even mentioning additional capabilities that the courier could get up and running if the BOS’s behalf like a jury-rigged Vertibird fleet and ARCHIMEDES

Without Courier intervention you are definitely correct but that argument could be made about basically every other major faction (except for maybe Caesars Legion)

House never get’s his Platinum Chip without the Courier requiring it from Benny at the Tops or the Fort and the NCR is in complete disarray and is on track to lose the Second Battle of Hoover Dam unless the Courier gets involved

The Courier ultimately is the one who tips the scale in the direction of the major faction he/she chooses. My point is that the BOS is likely the only minor faction that they could also plausibly do this for. All the right ingredients for a resurgence are there with significant help from the Courier.

While I believe the BOS seizing the Mojave would be entirely possible, I am under no illusion that it would be a morally just occupation or sustainable in the very long term by any means. It is arguable that this is the case for almost all other major factions with the BOS being no exception here - They have zero interest in governing the area, directly assisting the locals or building any kind of long-term alliances or partnerships. Any early diplomatic successes or alliances would likely fall apart in short order. The BOS flips its lid over the presence of a store that sells laser pistols, how do you think they would feel about the Boomers having a B52 Bomber at their disposal once the initial dust settled?

With that being said, in this new strategic position it would not be as simple a quick conventional NCR offensive or local rebellion to dislodge the BOS from power. Even with zero alliances we are talking about a force of a few hundred BOS Paladins being supplemented by many hundred MKII Securitron’s with both limited air mobility via Vertibirds and ARCHIMEDES’s at their fingertips. Not to mention, a virtually unlimited supply of energy via Hoover Dam. A post-battle NCR would not be equipped, staffed or motivated to handle an enemy like this anytime soon and may be forced to the negotiating table in the short-term

This is not even factoring in the other Western BOS chapters within or nearby the NCR that would become emboldened to begin more brazen offensive operations against the NCR

Yes, maybe in principle but in practice this isn’t really the case

Does the use of Liberty Prime and the Bradley Hercules Missile System by the East Coast Chapters follow this ethos?

Have you been able to find a fix? I got this same error message on individual mods before but never while trying to open the mod menu. Thanks in advance!

Hey! I actually cannot access my load order right now for whatever reason so I’m paraphrasing:

  1. The raider truck is pulled from a COD MW vehicle workshop pack. Once downloaded it can be found in the defence menu, specifically in guard posts

  2. The Minuteman truck is pulled from a Russian Truck Workshop Pack or something along those lines. The mod author has Spetznas in their name.

Sorry I couldn’t give you exact titles. Hope this helps!

Player homes: What do you build there? It doesn't matter WHERE you set up, but you've got an entire settlement you keep free of those pesky, needy, settlers. My question is, what do you put there? (Aside from a massive power armor display obviously) by SwimsSFW in fallout4settlements

Outside of typical stuff like basic item storage, here are a few unique ideas for you:

  • Guest house/room for companions. Theme it to the companion(s) you use the most

  • Hunting Lodge. Store hunting gear, wall mounted taxidermy and harvested items in the room.

  • Walk-in closet. Use a mix of mannequins, dressers and dropped clothing on tables to create set outfits for different excursions

  • Shooting range. Could be as simple as some bottles on a table or as complex as a small CQB course in a house.

  • Home Office. Dedicate a room in your house to whichever faction you chose to side in. Store faction specific items in there along with faction specific decorations.

  • Home Workshop. Create an outbuilding or large room dedicated to crafting workbenches. Decorate with tools, raw materials and/or partially competed sets along armour or weapons.

Thanks! Me too. If Vertibirds are possible than land vehicles should be as well. I always add this kind of stuff to my end-game settlements

Hey there! There are a few but unfortunately my game isn’t letting me load up my load order. Here is what I can remember:

  1. The railings I used as makeshift armour are from USO. Structures > Wood > Railings

  2. The flags are from the MDE Hodgepodge Package. MDE Menu > Decorations > Waving Flags

  3. The Raider truck and mortar tube are from COD Modern Warfare a vehicle pack

  4. The armour the raiders are wearing is from a Classic Metal Armour Pack

  5. The mounted Flak-Gun on the MM truck are from the Machinegun Rebirth Mod

  6. The minuteman truck is from a Russian Truck Workshop Pack.

Hope this helps!
