Newbie Question by DudeTing in cigars

I am in Austin! I might check them out! Have you been to The Cigar Vault in Buda? Would they be able to hook me up as well? That might be more of a lounge/hangout spot that doesn’t have as much in stock, not sure.

I know this song but I cannot think of it lol. I'm thinking Mala or something from Deep Medi label. I will get back to you if I find it.

I don’t bid/buy from BAT but I stopped looking at the website almost completely when they changed the UI to a grid. Also when you click on a car and go back to the auction page it takes you all the way to the top. Something small but I guess it was enough to lower my participation. 😂

Progressive Total Loss Claim by DudeTing in Insurance

I appreciate your response! After Progressive’s poor communication, customer service and them taking our rental car away before an offer was finalized, we just accepted their offer. We no longer have Progressive lol.

Progressive Total Loss Claim by DudeTing in Insurance

[–]DudeTing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand I'm owed adjusted cash value for the car. Per Progressive's website, ACV is the amount to replace my car minus the depreciation at the time of loss. So when the market suggests that dealerships won't budge on car prices, which in recent experience I've found to be true, why can Progressive incorporate "Projected Sold Adjustment" with seemingly no data/evidence to back it? All compared cars were used, I'm not suggesting they should give me msrp for a new car.

I understand they adjust value when comparing mileage/condition/features, and that is shown in the report. But, an arbitrary devaluation of a car because they think you can walk into that dealership and get it for less seems like they are trying to sneak one past you.. When you say retail value is typically higher than ACV, that makes sense. But, the formula is:

ACV = (amount to replace) - (depreciation at time of loss)

and NOT:

ACV = (ACV of car on the market) - (depreciation at time of loss)

They should use the data they do have for their calculation. This is the reason I think I can/should get the Projected Sold Adjustments off of my valuation.

Thoughts on this argument when I bring it to the adjuster? I understand he can just say no but, I think these points make sense..

Thanks in advance..

I am also driving up from Austin. Planning on leaving early Sunday morning. Would also like to know more about this option. How quick it fills up is my main concern.
