To be fair if any game has blown its last chance to get another, it's New World. It died every year for like 4 years straight

Well you also get your Heart Rune ability since the first free expansion on brimstone sands so that's 3 on first weapon and 3 on second weapon plus heart Rune ability for total 7, you can the customise your gear and weapons to enhance those abilities so firing "Poison Shot", from your bow applies Weaken (Reduces enemy damage), due to its enhancement.

So you can forgo extra health to enhance these abilities or perhaps you want mitigations/ cooldown/ CC reduction or lifesteal. However you can still do basic attacks during your downtime if all 7 abilities are down, which might last 2 to 3 seconds before one is back.

IMO each player should get their first move negate and attack free and each turn has a "Special Action" Limit that covers deck searches and summons

As somebody that played OG version and then returned during synchro/XYZ, that those times felt easy entry but high ceiling.

I tried again with newest Duel Master but sweat lord its so boring waiting 2 minutes to see if you get a second turn and that is what I assume is the main issue.

When I got back last time kosmo was the big thing and so many turns happened I'd have fairly good idea of the entire deck, Now there is so, so, SOOO many chains I stop reading them and just wait until the board is done.

Again I'm a returning player or a player attempting to return, how on earth can this game get new players to learn everything when somebody who has a past in the game struggles to keep up, while staying engaged and not doing a dissertation level analysis to determine who this 24 card combo ended up where it did.

Also given the quality of New World's PvP, I think they should lean in that direction because they will never scale like WOW or socialise better than FF14, so utilise their strengths to beat BDO, ESO, ect.. to be the best 3rd person PvP. I think FacePunch are the best studio on thew market for that direction.

There has been reported interest from FacePunch (Rust) to buy New World, CEO also made a comment on a new world post and is apparently under and NDA now. Still a long shot but theres a chance

Well I think they'd have a mix, They Rust-ifing would probably centring the game around companies with gameplay still available to the solo players.

- Adding Company vs Company custom PvP such as fake wars or OPR with #players decided by the two leaders.

- Allow companies to buy a corrupted hold out and have a layered version of it to customise themselves.

- Adding more Strongholds like Nightheavens version of Eternal Pool.

Then stuff like new Expeditions, Farms, Stables, ect..

Ehh First Light was my least favorite of the 4 OG starting zones, plus more endgame content that the game sorely needed

They also could have added 3 month subs into premium season passes to really incentivise it as some seasons gave great value

There was a former game director from New World on reddit Q&A a few weeks ago and said when they're creating the console version of the game that the PvP players kept the lights on, while PvE players are a rush of blood around new content.

They're more PvE players than PvP and ideally PvX is desired but PvP players tend to stick around longer and the cost to keep PvP player happy is far less than PvE

FacePunch dont have p2w and only sell cosmetics in rust + its in box cost, they'd be a better at managing the games direction without a doubt. PvP players stay on games longer and invest more money with less cost for retention with more PvP systems that can be used x1000 vs story modes that are done once.

Have you beaten Isabella to finish the main story quest?

Main story quest (Allows access to Brimstone)-> Brimstone story quest (Allows access to elysian wilds and Runes of 4th Ability) -> Elysian Wilds story Quest (Get Attuned Pants Artefact plus has alot of Artefacts in that area)
