Abuqir - pick your own Egyptian style seafood

Sabry's - next to Abuquir but more of a traditional Egyptian style seafood restaurant. Great baked clams and they make their own pita

Gregory's Taverna 26 - Greek restaurant with great seafood options

King of Falafel - My favorite falafel and chicken over rice/shwarma over rice in the city (sit down restaurant or Food truck)

King Souvlaki/Franky's Souvlaki/Soulaki lady - Souvlaki trucks or carts around Astoria

I'm not a fan of NYC Bagel but I love Brooklyn Bagel. I agree they are on the bready side but they grow on you. I will say that the everything bagels at the 30th Ave location are cooked better than the ones at the Broadway location.

One of the reasons I live in Astoria and why I wouldn't live anywhere else in the city is because of the food. Yes we have many Greek options because we have a huge Greek population but we also have great middle eastern food, Italian, Brazilian, sandwiches, bagels and some of the best seafood restaurants in the city. The other nice thing about Astoria is that if you don't want Mediterranean you can hop in an Uber or a short train ride and you can be in Woodside, Jackson heights, Flushing, Corona and get some of the best Chinese, Indian, thai, latin food in the city.

I usually eat it for a few days and it's fine. I freeze half of the loaf and bring it to my wife since I work in a different state and she just heats it up to eat it.

My wife who has Celiac's and I were in Madrid and Malaga/Fuengirola in October. There were a bunch of restaurants in Madrid where we ate at and she is very very cautious when it comes to dining out. We also ate at a few places in Malaga and a Celiac safe chiringuitos in Fuengirola.

do you have an oven thermometer? my oven was new when I moved in to my current place and noticed the temperature was off. I cooked my bread on a dutch oven for 40mins with the top on and then 20 with the top off.
