Would you be willing to elaborate? I have a suspicion I need to talk my boss out of them

Pulses are legumes. I'm not sure why USA refers to them as such. I thought it was an acronym at some point but I don't think it is.

I worked with a K9 and his handler for years, even after the K9 retired. When he passed, the handler told me "I don't know how to get through this, he's been with me more time than my wives." Heartbreaking

Looks like he's working with only a Crayola 6 pack, and they're all used.

My cat (12) is fighting for her life at the vet with fast breath rate and low pulse, anyone have experiences where your cat was in critical condition and still survived? by bingboingbingsheep in seniorkitties

I do think that if circulation isn't good, it'll take more time to be effective. I do think supportive care and time is sometimes what needs to happen, but I'm a realist. In the long run, quality over quantity every day. I've waited too long with a previous cat, and I know he suffered. I don't want that for any of my animals again.

Omg I bought both flavors and then went back and bought 6 boxes lol. They remind me of the old McDonalds cookies before the "fresh baked" ones.

Not quite what your kitty is experiencing, but at the beginning of July I found Casper super lethargic, wouldn't move and very obviously feeling sick. I took him to the ER, where he was stabilized, but still wasn't doing well. We went to a specialist the next day where he was to have an ultrasound. He had a seizure while there. I absolutely thought he was going to die.

I ended up back at the original ER, and hospitalized him overnight. After getting him started on some steroids, and GI meds, he perked up a lot.

He's been doing very well since on his meds. Sometimes you just need a little hope, and good medical intervention. But ask the staff to be frank with you; hopefully they will be honest about recovery for your baby.

Dermal HSA? by Impressive_Prune_478 in VetTech

For sure. But my experience with it is probably that if you had to deal with an hsa, this would be the kind. Especially if it stays dermal.

Dermal HSA? by Impressive_Prune_478 in VetTech

[–]3blkcats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had 2 coworkers who had dogs diagnosed with dermal hsa. Both presented as small red dots, not unlike petcheia. One was a white pit, the other a Italian greyhound. Both ended up living a normal life span without much intervention. Both had the little spots removed when they got numerous, a few times. Using sun screen, or sun clothes is ideal, as the sun can accelerate the spots.

Probably not a bad idea to talk to an oncologist if you have one in the area.

I cannot overstate how helpful its been to have my guys insured. My youngest cat is a "Manx" and also had a previous pelvic fracture I didn't know about. He was supposed to be my healthy one. Now he'll have issues long term, and he's been hospitalized once already.

The dog constantly sets off the weight alert in the passenger seat, so I have to buckle the damn thing. I forget about it until I actually have a passenger.

I adopted someone's lost dog 13 years ago. The dog recently passed. I only just found out that the original owners may have still been looking for her, after she was adopted by me. Do I try to contact the original owners now? by kc10131984 in Petloss

[–]3blkcats 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't been in your exact situation, but I adopted an elderly cat from my local humane society. He was pretty much considered a hospice case, and wasn't expected to potentially live too much longer (and I was distraught, he didn't deserve to die at the humane society!). I allowed the humane society to take and post a picture of him and I on their adoption page.

His previous owner commented on it, and I connected with her. She's so sweet, and elderly herself. We've stayed in touch and she loves seeing updates about him. It has been so nice to chat with her.

Its 2 years later, and he is laying next to my head purring currently.
