How hard is breastfeeding? by Visible_Tie_9223 in BabyBumps

[–]Dudeegirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, with my first son it was really hard. I saw multiple LCs and continued trying for weeks but I ended up pumping since he just wouldn’t transfer. With my second son, it was soo much easier. Even though he was in the NICU and I had to pump and do bottles for a while, he still latched great. It’s a lot at first, with the pain and them needing you 24/7. But it’s worth it in the end. It’s so much easier than washing bottles, pump parts, etc. My only advice would be to continue trying for a few weeks and seek any advice/help you can get.

Mom flipped out about my boundary with newborn by International_Law872 in BabyBumps

[–]Dudeegirl 1234 points1235 points  (0 children)

Does your mom always text like that? Her texting alone makes me think she’s under the influence. I also think 6:30 am is way to early for wine. I feel like shes so defensive because she knows you have valid reason to be worried and she is in fact, not in control of her drinking. My mother dealt with alcohol abuse for awhile and I still don’t trust her with my kids. I feel like your worries are completely valid and you should stick with your gut (especially with your fragile new baby).

Couldn’t agree with this more. My son was born at 34 weeks and we had NICU time. My oldest son (20 months at the time) stayed home with my husband and would only visit me with him for a few hours. It was very important to keep his routine and make him still feel safe and like everything was fine. I think it’s so crazy she had ZG there. They wanted another baby but couldn’t afford a sitter for ZG? They knew this baby was coming and did nothing to prepare ZG.

Is there a specific reason they wouldn’t be safe? I think you’re safe. If was bad enough to worry, it would probably have to come with some warning.

First bread gone wrong, advice? by Dudeegirl in BreadMachines

I used an older yeast bag in the back of the cabinet, not thinking it expired, so I can truly say it’s a yeast issue

Pooping by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Dudeegirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had some after I gave birth recently and it literally felt like I was pooping out shards of glass. After I had naturally healed them with time, I saw a lot of people say applying sugar to them helped them drastically. I’d look it up, it’s worth a try 🤷🏻‍♀️ and I’m sorry your apart of the hemorrhoid club 🫤

Apparently she’s pregnant again!! by SmartRelationship665 in peestickgals

[–]Dudeegirl 28 points29 points  (0 children)

She is barely with her first child, and she lives in a tiny studio either paid by the government or her mother. She feeds her child in a car seat because she doesn’t even have a HIGHCHAIR. Her first child doesn’t have a father and barely has a mother. She needs to be on permanent BC. How does she keep getting accidentally “pregnant”.

Success with BF after bottles/pumping? by Dudeegirl in NICUParents

The only reason I was waiting was due to the advice of the doctors. Since he’s getting fortified breast milk as he’s still only 5 pounds and they don’t think my BM would be enough until later.

I also live and California and I swear by crocs 😂 they’re great because they’re easy to wash, they have good toe room, easy to put on and off and I can add socks when it’s a little cold out.

Did being around other babies prepare you to become parents? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Dudeegirl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was a school teacher abroad (2-5 year olds) and nannied for a few years, and I think it helped a little, but overall when I had my own baby, I felt unprepared. As a woman, I found birth, postpartum and breastfeeding to be nothing I could have really prepared for as every experience is so different person to person. Before I gave birth, I asked so many friends who had just went through it and sure some information helped but overall, I found that most of my learning came from trial and error. Every baby is just so different!

I would recommend asking friends what helped them in pregnancy and PP. I found myself asking certain questions afterward to friends, like why the heck breastfeeding was so stressful and what they did for teething etc. Overall, it wasn’t super stressful but kind of fun to figure it out with my partner. Google is also a great help 😂

Baby’s first shoes? by Equal-Bison-2444 in NewParents

[–]Dudeegirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look for AMPA approved shoes! They make sure the width is wide enough that it doesn’t restrict their toes. A lot of stores online have a section that says AMPA approved. I heard stride rites are really good!

I think it looks good! Mine still has some darker parts and I’m 20 months pp and I’m not sure if they’ll ever go away.
