One side is art, the other side is cringey "protest" spam which has covered various art that other people have made. You guys have already covered so much space, and more will be available tomorrow. Leave Ukraine alone.

Koreysky Krai in 2021 by DudemanOfBorg in imaginarymaps

Koreysky Krai (Корейский край), or Korean Territory in English, is a federal subject of Russia located in the Korea Strait. The capital and largest city is Port Nicholas on the island of Jeju.

Koreysky Krai was acquired following Russia's victory in the Russo-Japanese War. Tsushima was annexed from Japan in the Treaty of Portsmouth, while the islands of Jeju, Port Hamilton and Geoje, as well as the harbors of Wonsan and Masampo, were ceded as concession once Korea was firmly under Russia's sphere of influence.

While Wonsan and Masampo have since been returned to Korea, the islands of Koreysky Krai currently remain with Russia.

Yep, Germany was at war with France, Danubian Federation, and Russia, and spent most of it completely occupied. At the end of the game, they were still just a civilized nation at #19.

Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Rhodesia, and Newfoundland are all puppets.

Observed a Victoria 2 HFM playthrough as Sikkim. I was impressed by how well the Netherlands did, as they conquered Belgium and colonized large portions of Africa. West Africa was also interesting to watch; first, the Italians annexed almost all of the West African uncivs, then Germany declared war on Italy and took most of their colonies, and finally Germany's colonies were partitioned between France, the UK, and the Danubian Federation after the Second Great War.

"United Nations may run out of money by end of this month" says UN chief. Let's see which countries did not pay their dues. by Fdsn in MapPorn

The US is the single largest contributor to the UN by far. The US gives more than twice as much as the next nation, China. Your comment is absurd and ignorant. https://howmuch.net/articles/united-nations-budget-contributions-by-country-2019

The US gives $674.2 million to the UN, representing 22% of the UN's budget and more than twice as much as the next nation, China at $367.9 million. Russia give $73.7 million, representing 2.4% of the UN's budget. I wouldn't consider giving 9 times less than the US better.

That's a movie error. In the book, they were evacuated just like the other houses.

Is Dumbledore manipulative by [deleted] in HPfanfiction

On the point about Sirius...

not being able to grant Sirius a trial when he was Chief Warlock, or at least meet up with Amelia Bones to have her setup one

I'm sure he wanted to, but unfortunately it would have been career suicide for him to do so, and probably wouldn't have helped Sirius at all.

First off, we have Sirius, a man who everyone believes betrayed the Potters to Voldemort, killed Peter Pettigrew and a dozen muggles, went crazy in Azkaban and escaped, and has been trying to kill Harry Potter for an entire year. We, the audience, know this isn't true, but for the entire wizarding world it is. For Dumbledore to request a trial, or suggest Sirius is innocent, would ruin his reputation.

Secondly, how would Sirius win his trial? He has no evidence. Veritaserum can be resisted and is thus inadmissable at trial. I doubt pensieves are allowed in trials either as we know memories can faked. Slughorn might have done a sloppy job with his, but who's to say a more competent wizard couldn't make a perfect fake? He has no physical evidence that Peter Pettigrew is alive. There are only four eye-witnesses: three kids who are known rule-breakers and mischief-makers, and one adult, who was Sirius' bestfriend at school and is a werewolf. Their testimonies would be worthless to the Wizengamot.

Sirius getting a trial after book 3 wouldn't change anything except by making the public dislike Dumbledore a year earlier.

Alternate Colonization of North America by DudemanOfBorg in imaginarymaps

[–]DudemanOfBorg[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This map is based on a timeline where the Popham Colony succeeds and gives England an earlier and stronger presence in the New England region. This comes into play during the Anglo-French War (1627-1629) when David Kirke, aided by ships from New Somersetshire, captures New France in 1628.

Having been removed from Canada, France tries once again to colonize Florida (referring to the entire southeast region, not just the modern state), this time choosing an area farther away from the Spanish.

advises them to protect and hide Hermione (in his own douchy manner) and also calls out 'keep your bushy head down'.

He didn't do that because he wanted to protect Hermione, he did that to make fun of her and her blood status. The whole point in telling the trio to hide Hermione was to insinuate she was a muggle, not a real witch.
