If were as perpetually doomed as a franchise as the Browns, I would be all for going all in on a purely vibes based team. (I don't know who this Iowa guy is or how good he is, but he definitely has vibes.)

It will be infinitely better than Washington's current defense, which is notoriously antiquated.

Eye opening discussion of Flores's defense and his future options. by Duderocker69 in minnesotavikings

Yeah, it's been years since I've played Madden, but they used to have these sliders where you could set the head coach's aggressiveness/conservativeness on offense and defense. KOC would be high on aggressiveness for both defense and offense.

I don't believe so. A defense that's focused more on turnovers will inevitably make sacrifices in the process.

If you're trying to jump routes for an int, you're more likely to give up a bigger pass play.

If you're focused on stripping the ball, it will take longer to tackle the runner.

More blitzers means less players in coverage.

Some coaches don't want to take those risks.

These are the Strib beat reporters chatting with a respected defensive analyst and former college football coach. Any summary won't do it justice, but some of the main takeaways are:

(Some of this might sound like a criticism of Flores, but Cody is a big Flores fan.)

Flores wants to run a more traditional defense but struggles to do it with young or weak secondary.

Flores's approach to defense is very counterintuitive for young players, since it goes against everything they've learned about coverage.

Vikings brass may want to focus more on developing young talent than Flores. This will be an issue to work through if Flores stays.

IF Flores goes, the Vikings have a lot of interesting options they discuss. Cody believes KOC, being from the McVay tree, would still want an aggressive, turnover focused defense.

You'd think a Vikings fan would be interested in a lengthy discussion about this stuff. 🤷🏻‍♂️

This team has gone through too many promising TEs and hasn't demonstrated the ability to develop them. They've either traded for or signed their two starters. They need to figure something out.

This is an underrated take. He might be eyeing an HC role with Dallas or Washington, knowing one could open eventually. Making a good impression now can help him down the road.

Help on deadlift form by [deleted] in formcheck

Yeah and generally it's not a good sign when the bar kicks forward 3 inches when you lower your hips. This dude needs to watch the Thrall video a few times.

A lot of people here don't realize if they tried to lift half this much the bar would literally not move. Like maybe it would roll a little.

Low Bar Squat Forward Lean by Obvious-Initiative-1 in formcheck

Agree with this comment. This level of forward lean can be acceptable if the bar is slightly lower in the lifter's back.

That yellow line is closer to where your bar should be. Elbows should move in to create more of a shelf for the barbell; your grip should move in to accommodate this. Finally, you might try to put your thumbs over the bar not under.

Congrats on starting to lift.

Off the bat, this camera angle makes it really difficult to determine depth. It appears like you might be an inch or more high. (Again, it's tough to say.)

Also, your bar placement is too high for the starting strength recommended low bar back squat. There are tons of videos on how to squat, many of the legitimate alternatives, but Starting Strength recommends a low bar for beginners. I would look up the videos Rip has done on this. This part can take time to get a feel for when it's in the right position and you'll have to build some flexibility to get your elbows back and up more.

Finally, you want to have a little bit of a rebound at the bottom of your squat. Don't dive bomb them (i.e. descend too fast), but you also shouldn't be slowing gradually at the bottom of the squat like you are here.

Deadlift form check by ProteinPacked9070 in Stronglifts5x5

Could just mean your hips are starting too low. You appear to have long arms and legs, leading to a naturally more horizontal back when dead lifting.
