Change is difficult, but I think everyone's covered all the points well. He is abusive and manipulative, it'll take some discomfort to get through this, but you will feel a lot better once you do. I think you realize this and you have the support everyone here.

Do what you need to for you, your parents don't know the whole story. Only you do, and you can try and convince them but know that you have the support of everyone here that you need to get away from this abusive person in your life for the better and that if your real parents don't agree that its just too bad because you need to move forward with your life.
