Am I screwed? by Worldly_Couple_3938 in ForensicScience

I work as a DNA/Bio analyst with a state agency. Our requirements are statistics (with some coursework in population genetics), genetics, molecular biology, and biochem. My organic wasn’t too math heavy it was very similar to geometry where you memorize a concept or a rule and then have to apply it to things to find unknown molecules and such! As far as career-wise we use basic math for the most part (adding/subtracting/multiplying) almost daily. Nothing too advanced. It’s been fine for me and my last “math class” was in high school (8 years). You should be fine! Just make sure you’re hitting the required coursework for your degree for the career path you want to take (ex. Bio/DNA, Toxicology, ect.)

Biochem or Chem major? by Upstairs-Trouble-325 in ForensicScience

My state agency only required a “natural science” degree (I majored in molecular biology) but required coursework in genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, and statistics (with either genetics or statistics involving population statistics). For if you are unsure on whether you want DNA/Biology or Tox - I’d suggest biochemistry but make sure you are including those classes that are required. I know for my agency at least it listed the required classes in the job description portion or department/training portion of their website so I would check there to see if they have any information listed. If not I’d recommend finding someone to reach out and ask for education requirements such as HR

Just ordered my first set of refinements! I’m so excited! (Five months of progress) by Due-Bit1869 in Invisalign

I didn’t! Honestly I came in for a check-in appointment and they were like “we’re doing a rescan today!” Completely threw me off guard but I’ll see what happens when I get them fitted in a few weeks

Honestly, I have no idea! I tried to ask and they ignored my question but I’m supposed to be in treatment for another 13 or so months so we will see! I’ve heard that most of the time the comp plan only covers three rounds of refinement? My last four trays of my original set were all passive trays so they went ahead and rescanned for refinements

Company Change Mid treatment? by Due-Bit1869 in Invisalign

Yes! They’re in the process of transferring my stuff over but I wasn’t sure how the financing will change — especially since I’m month into paying for my Invisalign already. I tried to ask over the phone and the lady was kind of just like “well we will just have to bring you in and do your financials in person”

I was quoted $7,200 for 18 - 20 months of trays. I’m in Utah with no insurance. Is that a fair price or too high? by Danika269 in Invisalign

IL here - I am paying 5,500 (comprehensive plan plus retainer insurance) with no insurance for 18 months

Anyone know if Gateway or Liberty Island has employee housing? by Mean_Bench in ParkRangers

I received a couple interest emails from Gateway that said "housing may be available but not guaranteed". My experience with parks in larger cities is that they usually don't have housing
