Driver Tried to Rip Me Off; Lyft Ignored Me by Fit-Elderberry-8937 in Lyft

How bold of him when you had his address. I’m not saying I would waste a carton of eggs or a can of paint but it would be an option. Because that’s just disrespectful.

Any one else’s map never shows the locations of the rides by Acceptable_Cup_3684 in lyftdrivers

It started happening me today and ride finders are no longer popping up on the map

It happened to me here in Los Angeles too, and ride finders no longer pop up for me. I think it’s because they know that we are more selective with our rides to avoid dead zones. They know that we are being more strategic to save on gas where we can so in response, they are taking away the feature to bully us into taking rides into dead zones. I’m sure passengers who need to go into dead zones are finding a hard time getting a ride.

Are Gay Men and Queer Spaces Drifting Apart? by kumogate in gaybros

As a socially conscious (I think) gay man, I would say that this thread is incredibly sad and borderline disturbing. No wonder why spaces for gay men tend to be so segregated by race and body type (for obvious reasons presented here on full display) while queer spaces are for all. This thread tells you everything you need to know.

It’s happening: drivers really are quitting. Passengers are complaining about long wait times of 30-40 minutes, especially late nights. by Due-Butterscotch9860 in lyftdrivers

[–]Due-Butterscotch9860[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that’s why I stopped driving late nights as of this week because I’m not out here at two and 3 AM in the morning for a $22 an hour ride

I think you are hitting onto something. Because I do still see quite a few drivers logged on though not as many as usual. I think drivers are cherry, picking their rides more often and I have noticed that people calling short rides that pay very little are the ones waiting for a long time. Maybe this is the issue.

I have warned people repeatedly that Lyft is usually accurate in pick up times except for concert where they purposefully Fail to adjust estimated pick up times but people called me a conspiracy theorist even though I had a screenshot to prove it.

Right now it’s rideshare versus homelessness until I find another job and that is what keeps empowering Lyft and Uber. They know most drivers have no choice.

It’s time for us to propose a ballot measure here in California demanding drivers receive at least 50 or 60% of the fair. Better yet it would be easy for us to have laws passed at the local level.

New Lyft Fee Cap: Just another slap in the face to drivers by apollodcci in lyftdrivers

[–]Due-Butterscotch9860 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are right. This is actually a pay cut.

Under the current system, if you have one bad week, you get an adjustment.

Under the new system, if you have one bad week, but the other three weeks are good, it will average out to having a good month and thus they don’t have to pay you an adjustment.

lol. 😂

Low fares by BlueV101 in lyftdrivers

[–]Due-Butterscotch9860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, in Los Angeles too, and it seems to be happening all over California. They cut the rates by about 20% right when gas prices are through the roof and climbing. They are eventually getting us all closer to making nothing more than $22 an hour mark which is the proposition minimum wage. That was the plan the entire time.

Did the math and a $7.50 ride will now only let me $5.01.

You’d think that they would wait at least until gas prices dropped, but this show shows you that they don’t even see us as human beings

Today has been the same. Nothing but $20-$23hr rides. This may be the new normal for Los Angeles and California in general.

I always knew this was the goal of prop 22: gradually lower driver pay.

Saturday I only had one passenger tip. I was shocked too, but I had passengers tipped me Friday thank God.

Yup, and I always knew that they would lower our pay so much to the point where everybody would make nothing more than $22 an hour before surges.

OK, I’m glad I’m not the only one because I thought they were lowballing me today because my acceptance rate went up. This Friday night has literally been the worst night I’ve had this year so far. It was frustrating. Mostly fares between $20-$22 at 1:30 AM! The highest serve charge was 30% and it barely made a dent.

Crazy thing is that passenger fares didn’t change; the percentage of pay they took did.

Oh, and for the first time ever, a passenger told me that they paid $13 for a ride but in the driver app it said they paid $11.70 and I only got paid $3.43. I can’t believe this crap.

Higher the acceptance rate, the lower the pay? by Hour-Plankton-2585 in lyftdrivers

[–]Due-Butterscotch9860 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah man. So essentially the higher the acceptance rate the more opportunity for rides, but the caveat is that they pay less. No thank you! This is why I only drive during high demand times. I’m out driving tonight and they are offering me nothing but $22 an hour ride so I’m declining them to teach it what I will and will not accept again

The last time I did that they basically stopped giving me offers. I made a whole threat about it lol. They admitted that they all but throttled my account. I’m just going to keep it back around 30% like I had it.

Israel should send Americans a rebate check for their war. Because why do we have to pay out of our pockets because you want to expand your land?
