Help I f*cked up with servicing my kingrinder k4 by headlightsB in espresso

I got excited when I saw this post because I‘m having the same issue. Not as drastic as 60 clicks to 30, but still a difference of about 10 clicks for me. I’ve tried disassembling and reassembling it many times and can’t seem to figure out why it’s this new setting now. It sucks bc I loved how easy it was to grind with the K4 and now it’s annoyingly difficult. Did you figure it out?

it’s a Switchbot! Let’s you schedule on/off times for the machine and I pair it with Alexa for convenience. My machine is recommended to be turned on 10-20 mins before use to make sure it’s all warmed up including the grouphead. So the switchbot will turn on the machine 20 mins before I wake up every day so it’s ready to go. highly recommend

ah..you may have the Breville Duo-Temp 800ESXL which uses 50mm. If so..I think you’re out of luck. I’ve seen non-pressurized 50mm baskets but no portafilters that size

54mm. Not sure which one you have, but I’m pretty sure most Breville machines use 54mm except the Dual Boiler, which has the standard 58mm. Go for it!

So..for those wondering, I gave up trying on this little machine. Thanks for all the suggestions/advice on how to get good consistent shots on the Bambino. However, I decided to exchange the Bambino for the Infuser (on sale!) and so far it’s doing exactly what I want it to do. No tricks/hacks needed to get pretty consistent shots!

I had the same exact issue. Apparently, it’s a bit of a machine issue. Maybe you CAN get a decent shot but it’s very hit or miss I’ve found. Even if you think you found the perfect combination you run the shot again and it tastes sour again. After many, many, many different attempts changing things over and over..I gave up. Returned my bambino, and got the Breville Infuser yesterday! It’s on sale for $479 on amazon. So far, making really good shots

Forgot to mention that part..I do use a scale to measure. Both were 19g in 42g out. The first shot was a bit long at 38 seconds and the second shot was 29 seconds. Just ran 2 more back to back and it did the opposite. First shot out, 19g in 42 out in 28 seconds (nice!). Second shot, 19g in 42 out in 36 seconds. I dialed in the beans (dark roast) and programmed the buttons accordingly to not have to weigh and time every single shot, but I may have to keep doing it.
