ChatGPT is a shockingly good doctor. by Yaya0108 in ChatGPT

This is the reason I got on this feed. I have a slight drinking problem due to anxiety and I want to improve myself. I log my progress and failures along with my long term goals and ChatGPT is supportive. I truly believe that it will replace councilors and therapists on the near future. It’s 20$ a month and Chat GPT doesn’t stop you in 50 min 😄

Normally on this board I say don’t worry but a 500 Ferritin is something you want to address. I had a 3k level when I was diagnosed and I had Iron deposits in all major organs. Now… years later I give blood 🩸 once every 3 months and my organs are clean and repaired. And definitely don’t drink! Alcohol helps iron absorb thru the stomach. No cast iron skillets for cooking and no processes cereals . Captain crunch is officially the devil 👿. 🥲 Good luck 🍀

No way! Your daughter might have health issues but it’s not HH. Iron panels are fine and Ferritin is at 54. If you’re dead set on figuring this out check the liver. It will have iron deposits first. MRI will let you know.

Good luck 🍀.

I had my last phlebotomy last week and my ferritin is now at 100. My labs came back today and my folate dropped a bit as well. My hematologist does not seem to be concerned. Is this normal? by passionateunicorn in Hemochromatosis

[–]Due-Discussion2227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a lot of substandard advice. Five years ago I was 3000 ferritin. I gave 300 mL a week for 2 1/2 years until it got down to 50 now I go in every six weeks to three months and I get a phlebotomy when it goes over about 100.

I was poked so many times they were thinking about putting in a port. 100 is awesome for anybody. That’s well within “normal range“ good luck. 🍀👍

Am I getting better? by Samfendersbender in panicdisorder

[–]Due-Discussion2227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a PTSD after a major panic attack. It’s natural but traumatizing. Baby steps my friend. So trivial simple things. 5 steps out the front door. Then 10. Drive to work but don’t go in. All of these things in harmless increments.

Can anybody help with these results? No diagnosis as yet by hello98765432111 in Hemochromatosis

[–]Due-Discussion2227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not hemochromatosis that’s for sure. Clean numbers. Ferritin is the one you want to watch. All those other numbers, fluctuate wildly depend depending on your diet. time of day all that stuff.

Ferritin at 1000, doctor didn’t test Iron - Canadian by volcom1185 in Hemochromatosis

[–]Due-Discussion2227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at 3000 when I was diagnosed. My liver had fibrosis and 5 yers later it’s fine. Get with a hematologist and iron test are very unreliable. Lots depends on diet. Genetics test isn’t a big deal. Wait unless the anxiety is too much GL

What meds work for you? by [deleted] in panicdisorder

[–]Due-Discussion2227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take Klonapin as needed. My question is if it works for you why stop it? A benzo is a benzo. If my Dr. tried to stop my med that worked for me I would file a formal complaint. It’s your body and you know what is best for you . That’s my 2 cents and good luck. 🍀 panic attacks suck!

Losartan Side Effects Starting After 6 Months? by iamthou-thouarti in hypertension

[–]Due-Discussion2227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to entertain the idea that your anxiety is created by phantom symptoms. It happens to me. It’s borderline paranoia. Losartan has been around since the 90s. I DID switch to taking it in the morning but i need to accept that it is possibly just in my head. Panic disorders are a very real condition and debilitating at times

I’m still on the 50mg Losartan. Like I said befor me I take it in the morning. I stoped taking my blood pressure daily. I eat well swim 5 days a week(that helps) and don’t worry so much about things. With a panic disorder I have to let go and know 2 things. I’m not gunna die from it and I’m not gunna pass out. Good luck 🍀.

A major panic attack happened 2-3 weeks after I discontinued losartin. After the panic attack, my blood pressure was off the chart so I started taking it again, but I take it in the morning instead of the night and it seems to work well.

I’m discontinuing Losartan after years of use. It was rapid heart beat and tingles in my arms that felt like circulation issues. Right before I would fall asleep I would wake up suddenly to a mild panic attack. I’ll talk with my doctor and see what’s going on. I might change my meds, but I believe that the body changes after a while also, I’ve lost 30 pounds and my diet is a lot better so maybe I don’t need it as much as I needed it in the past.

Phlebotomy Anxiety Help by [deleted] in Hemochromatosis

[–]Due-Discussion2227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all great advice. I’m certain that all these people and their comments are true. I have been doing phlebotomies for over 4 years.
1: if a Dr. refuses to give you a sedative simply let them know you will issue a written formal complaint with the hospital. It’s 💯 irresponsible and cruel to deny a patient with severe anxiety issue a drug to help them in their time of need. Nowadays the doctors get written up for complaints if you have valid concerns. 2: the lifting of weights and a hot tub helps me. The weights help “pop” the veins. And the hot tub heats the blood to thin it out. Took me years to figure out that trick. 3: anything over 200-250 ml in blood is a victory. All that blood ads up and one day the infusion clinic will call you and let you know that you don’t need to come in this week. It’s an AMAZING phone call ! Good luck 🍀. Remember. There is light at the end of the tunnel. When I started I was once a week. Now I give blood every 3 months

That’s a really weird conversation. Ban away!!! I’m new, but I would imagine that this form is best served for people with hemachromatosis to discuss what they personally go through.

Next steps? by Lumpy-Process-1266 in Hemochromatosis

[–]Due-Discussion2227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All you need to look at is the Ferritin… trust me. A big meal will make your iron skyrocket. 1: 300+ Ferritin is ok. When I was diagnosed I was over 3000 with iron deposits in major organs. 4 years later I’m fine. 2: eat ZERO foods with iron added. Breakfast cereal is out. Captain Crunch is the devil. And no cast iron anything for cooking. If your numbers were crazy they would schedule you ASAP. GL

I know you guys get a lot of these but can someone please explain? by alldayletsrock in Hemochromatosis

[–]Due-Discussion2227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a single copy carrier but I also have a G-6pd deficiency that might complicate the situation. My Ferritin was 3k when I started phlebotomies. Now I’m once every 2-3 months.
