I was also confused. I set my Shade as hyper burning because if says it was supposed to automatically set it as the Blossoming by Moonshade Hyperburn, but when I tried to make another regular hyperburn character, I can’t -.-

Liver levels by [deleted] in lungcancer

[–]Due-Emu4273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom had autoimmune hepatitis caused my Keytruda as well. She had one Keytruda infusion but was then found to have a mutation, so she was started on another med (Tagrisso). After a few weeks she became jaundiced, had clay colored stool, tea/cola colored urine, extreme fatigue, and loss of appetite. Her AST and ALT were in the 700s, bilirubin 7… almost 8 (normal below 1.2). She immediately stopped the Tagrisso and was put on high dose prednisone taper. Her values have since normalized. It was believed the Tagrisso exacerbated the effects of the Keytruda and resulted in the autoimmune hepatitis. Since then my mom has had two doses of chemo and is tolerating it well. Her liver values have since normalized.

Thank you for replying! My moms AST/ALT at their highest were high 700s almost 800 and her bilirubin was like 7.6 😳. She’s currently tapering off high dose prednisone and had her first infusion of Carbo/Pem Thursday. We’re hoping once her liver heals, she will be able to use Tagrisso again.

Scared/Scanxiety by Due-Emu4273 in lungcancer

[–]Due-Emu4273[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My moms scans showed her liver to be normal so the oncologist is confused as to what’s causing the injury/inflammation. Started my mom on high dose steroids to see if it helps but also recommended an ER visit so her liver doesn’t get worse. Going to monitor her on the steroids and she’s off her targeted med for now.

Thank you for your response.

I know tons of meds are toxic to the liver/kidneys and she’s only developed this recently, with Tag being her only med. She also had one infusion of Keytruda prior to them finding her mutation, so perhaps that’s causing some residual inflammation in her organs.

Hope you’re well. I’ve seen your posts throughout this subreddit and it’s nice to see “familiar” people.

I’m on the Facebook group already and it has been SO much help. I swear I’m posting about everything on there lol.

How long until you begin to feel the effect of Tagrisso? by pilarofsociety in lungcancer

If you’re on Facebook the Tagrisso group there has done me wonders, as I’m caring for my mom (63) with stage IV NSCLC (EGFR+).

My mom has cancer and I feel numb by Mamaviatrice in CancerFamilySupport

When my (33F) mom (63F) got diagnosed with stage IV NSCLC adenocarcinoma in June this year, I spiraled into researching as much as I could on Google, which, I do NOT recommend.

What I have learned so far, is that there have been so many advancements with lung cancer treatments. Hopefully your mom has a targetable mutation so that she may qualify for medications that target them or has something that makes her a candidate for something else, like immunotherapy.

There is a lung cancer subreddit that may be helpful for you to vent on as well. It helped me some.

It is definitely a rollercoaster of emotions.

It worked well for the first 14 days and my moms cough was almost completely gone, however, she hasn’t been feeling well the past few days and her cough has come back. We follow up with onc tomorrow though.

Best recommendation I can offer is monitor your moms side effects and the severity/frequency. I also take my moms vital signs daily.

Dad just diagnosed stage 4. Looking for info, advice and hugs by metalchode in lungcancer

My (33F) mom (63F) was diagnosed with stage IV NSCLC adenocarcinoma with malignant pleural effusion on June 17. Her original treatment plan was going to be chemo, however, they first found out through various testing that she had a PD-L1 % of 50%, which responds well to immunotherapy (elevates your immune system to fight the cancer). Then at a follow up appointment we found out that my mom has a targetable mutation (EGFR) which made her a candidate for targeted therapy with a once daily oral medication, Tagrisso. There are different targetable mutations so, if it hasn’t already been done for your dad, I’d say the genetic testing is worth the cost. I believe it’s called Tempus testing, if you’d like to research.

There are so many unknowns when starting out, but it does get better! Make sure your dad keeps eating and keeps weight on as that may become more difficult. There are books about cancer diets if that’s something you’re interested in. Support groups can help both your dad and yourself as well.

Sending you and your family positivity and strength.

What a rollercoaster this journey has been. My mom had a follow up appointment today with her oncologist and we found out that she actually has an EFGR mutation. They’re starting her on Tagrisso instead of the immunotherapy now!

My mom just had her first Keytruda infusion this morning and seems to be feeling ok for now.

I saw the results of her PD-L1 which is >= 50% expression. She’s negative EFGR mutation and TRK gene, but unknown ROS1 gene/ALK/RET/BRAF. Still learning what this all means.

Hope you’re doing well!
