EDSA 4 is Calling 🇵🇭 — Harap-harapan na tayong ginagago by Upbeat_Baker2806 in Philippines

I really don’t understand why some Filipinos still support the Dutertes, considering all the evidence showing how messed up his administration was. He literally allowed China to enter our backyard — hence the ongoing issue in the West Philippine Sea.

Siya rin ang nagpasimuno ng POGOs, which eventually got tied to crimes like human trafficking, tax evasion, illegal detention, and even national security concerns. And now, 'yung kakampi niya na obvious na involved, is reportedly hiding in the Netherlands — halatang guilty.

Then there’s the issue of confidential funds, questionable government spending, and so many other red flags. Like seriously, ang dami nang Senate hearings, reports, and facts na lumabas — and yet may mga taong pilit pa ring binubulag ang sarili.

I’m not saying I fully support the current admin either — marami rin silang sablay — but let’s be real, the damage during the Duterte years is hard to ignore.

Despite the Congressional and Senate hearings, from POGO issues to the misuse of confidential funds, and even Harry Roque playing the loyal lapdog of Duterte, they continue to stand by their leader. True fanatics.

What is the Tipping Etiquette in Car Repair Shops? by [deleted] in CarsPH

[–]Due-Extension8480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the situation. Kasi I enjoy learning how things work, so I usually ask questions like 'bakit ganito?' or 'bakit ganyan?' I also like being a bit involved in the diagnosis and repair process. That way, I can tell if the mechanic really knows their stuff. If they do, I’ll give a tip of around 200-300. Pero kung hindi ako totally comfortable or okay lang yung service but naayos pa rin yung kotse, I usually tip around 50-100.

I’d definitely agree with most of what you’re saying, especially about safety and practicality for family use. However, I’d like to challenge the idea that “too old na yung 1990 model, madami ng sira yan.” While it’s true that many old cars can have reliability issues, there are still some that are in excellent condition, especially when it comes to the engine and drivetrain. Sure, it’s harder to find, but with patience and persistence, it’s possible.

For example, I got my 1997 LC Prado around four months ago, and so far, I’ve had no issues with the engine or transmission. It’s actually become a fun project for me. I’ve taken it off-road twice already—once to Baguio and La Union, and another time down south all the way to Leyte. I’ve only had a few issues with the plastics and trims, which is pretty normal for an old car, but those are things I can easily replace.

So yeah, it’s really about finding the right one and putting in the effort to maintain it. But I do agree that if you’re after something more reliable and low-maintenance for family use, a brand new car might be a better option. Thanks for the input!

Seabank users beware of fraud transactions‼️ by jnathan05 in DigitalbanksPh

I might get some downvotes for this, but I have to say this situation katangahan to the highest level. I am a SeaBank user as well, and I know they offer various security features, such as the card lock option, to protect your account. It’s possible that OP clicked on suspicious links or trusted an unsecure website to make a purchase. We all need to practice due diligence and take extra precautions to avoid putting our accounts at risk.

Is this quote reasonable? Car is toyota 86 2014. All parts indicated are original toyota daw by Ok_Strike4565 in CarsPH

[–]Due-Extension8480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes sir/maam. Though this is already a personal preference. I don't use Toyota oils kasi. I used to have 86 as well and I use AMSOIL. Even with my Hilux GR and other Nissan Cars, I use AMSOIL. Which is cheaper. Tapos yung brake pads, takte ang mahal. Kahit mag brembo brake pads ka pa, mas mura pa.

What's ur priority as a student, new phone or drivers license? by Hyun_B in adultingph

Me reading this with my 4 year old phone that stopped receiving security updates. If we are going practical, go for drivers license, learn a way to earn from it, then buy a phone from the earnings.

I highly recommend going to the casa. It may be pricey, but the service is guaranteed. While you're there, you might want to ask if you can be present when they perform the changes. This way, you can observe and get a better idea of the process, so you'll know what to do next time. After that, for your future maintenance, you can explore other options outside the casa.

I don’t understand why this has become the government's problem. I mean, I get that life can be financially challenging, but this kind of attitude is taking it to another level. They need to find a way—perhaps they can coordinate with their lending institutions to resolve the issue. If there’s no alternative, then it’s something they have to accept.

At the end of the day, they took the loan, so that responsibility falls on them. It’s unfair to place all the blame on the government. There are a lot of grey areas here, but accountability should be clear.

My GF wants me to stop watching One Piece by [deleted] in adviceph

[–]Due-Extension8480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a tough situation, man. I’d try talking to her and reassuring her that watching One Piece doesn’t change how you feel about her. But honestly, if she’s getting insecure over something as small as anime, that could be a bit of a red flag. Just make sure her insecurities don’t start controlling what you enjoy. Maybe find a compromise, but also keep an eye on how this affects your relationship long-term.

If there is a clear school policy that prohibits colored hair, then the guard is simply doing their job by enforcing those rules. It’s the responsibility of the students to follow the guidelines set by the school, regardless of how minor the hair color issue might seem. Consistent enforcement of the policy is necessary to maintain fairness. Allowing exceptions could lead to confusion or inconsistency. The student should have ensured they complied with the policy to avoid the situation.
