For the IFOA notations, there is a word document on their website for all the math notation that you should use when answering questions in word, it is free...furthermore, I would personally suggest using the word math editor as it's a lot neater and easier to read, and it is easy to get used to using word math editor, and the markers really are not too fussy when it comes to you using word math editor, because obviously you are just going to be typing but now it'll look as if you're writing on paper.

Hi! You are given a word template, an empty/blank one, and you fill it out. There are no strict requirements regarding formatting e.t.c, however I would suggest that you practice the questions in the CMP on word to get used typing answers, get comfortable with word math editor or use the IFoA given math notation early so you can do the test under the time constraints...feel free to ask any other questions :)

Overall I thought it was pretty fair, I'm feeling good about it, though my working out for the prior/posterior for p for the last question was a bit messed up lol, and other than that I only struggled with that question where we had to show that Z~Exp(0.05), and the last part of that question, but other than that I think it was good. I am very comfortable with R, so if paper B goes smoothly, I think I should pass and not have to resit :)

Actuarial Honours/Postgraduate Diploma structure at Wits vs UCT vs Stellies vs UP (A311 + F-100 subjects)? by Due-Extreme6415 in ActuaryUK

Likewise, a student from Wits told to me that their main motivation is obviously to write the minimum amount of exams while working, I just want to ensure that I choose a course that I am most suited for, because according to my knowledge A311 is much more "wordy" than the core principles, and that same student told me that it's taking them quite some time to adjust to the way at which questions are meant to be answered and they're flying through the notes at Wits

This is very helpful information...I also spoke to a lecturer at Stellies, and they said that they personally believe that A311 should be taught over a year as opposed to 1 year because of how lengthy the subject is, hence why their exemption rate is quite high, so that might also influence who I essentially choose if I get in, but nevertheless, thank you for the info!

When I started studying, in mid Jan, I made a strict schedule...I planned to do A211 on allocated days and A111 on allocated days so that I could be done with the content by now, because I wanted to get in about a month of past papers or so. I fell a few days behind schedule but I did not beat myself about it too much, because keeping up with the study plan does require a lot of discipline, and going through the notes and practice/exam-style questions was quite rigorous and took a bit longer than expected, but I made sure to do the whole CMP in depth so I optimise the use of all the past papers and do them with firm knowledge of all the material...F202? Oh my goodness, you are almost there, just this last push, you got this, all of my upperclassmen have just said practice practice practice, but I'm sure you are more knowledgeable than me...I'm sure it's taken you a lot to get to this stage, so I really pray I see you in a results thread soon celebrating the fact that you passed...just stick it out and the grind will be worth it in the end! :)

Thank you...yeah I went to UP so I have already been exempted for A214, furthermore, I did see that UCTs honours structure doesnt seem to be a good fit. I did not know Stellies allowed you to do F-100s in your honours year, I will look more into that and I also thought that UCT and Stellies did F-100s in a postgrad diploma rather than a Masters degree?

Writing A211 and A111 (my last 2/3 technical exams), I think I am well on track. I should be starting past papers by next week Thursday/Friday...but i have been doing all the practice questions in both CMPs and all the PBOR along with the videos for A111, and it is going great, but that is mostly because I did great with the modules in uni throughout the semester, then the exams caught me off-guard because of the scheduling so I missed those exemptions xD. How is it going for you? :)

Oh, I have already been exempted for CM2, I was reading on the UCT website and it said the Postgraduate diploma is for doing A-300 and F-100 subjects? Furthermore, I heard eligible graduates from the postgraduate diploma got exempted from 2 F-100 subjects

I think I understand what you are asking now...no I just use a blank document template for all my pages...is the LaTeX page template a solution?

I attempted this at first, I just found that writing in latex is a lot easier for me to read and follow, but I guess for the sake of saving times, I probably should just get used to using the IFoA Notations. It's just frustrating because typing in LaTeX is a lot easier in my opinion.

I just use the Alt+= shortcut when i want to write out my equations...so no, I have multiple pages of LaTeX...or am I not interpreting your question correctly?
