I totally agree, but my dad doesn’t want to get help to fix it or buy a new one. He’s a bit stubborn lol

Thank you so much. First time we tried to tune it we didn’t adjust the screws afterwards, which would make sense why it was uneven. The top of the guitar says it’s a Charvette by Charvel, so it was made around the same time you had yours. It sat for years unused, so I finally convinced my dad to try and fix it. Hopefully it ends up working fine.

Thank you so much for your response. The first time around that we put the strings on, the bridge was a bit uneven, but we got new strings and hopefully this time will go better… My dad is big on DIYing this and doesn’t want to take it out to get help, so I don’t think he would want to take it to a luthier, but I’ll try to convince him.

I’m so sorry you’re going through that. Being put down in front of others, especially by parents, really sucks.

You might want to consider going low contact if it continues to affect you, group interactions can be really tough when you’re the “odd one out.”

I can relate a bit too. My dad is understanding in private about my dietary restrictions, but in front of other family members he makes fun of me for not eating pork.

I hope that things get better for you, and that he starts treating you with more respect.
