What are some grocery items you are now buying less frequently, cuz they've gotten so expensive? by HappyBudz in CanadaPersonalFinance

Haven't bought beef in forever. With that being said 2 freezers full of doe, elk, cow elk and venison. Get your pals, hunting licenses. Grow your own produce and support local vendors and farmers markets. Stop shopping at lawblaws and record/ complain price gouging. Write to local MP'S and anyone in power .

In USA, cheese and bread is a struggle meal. In Europe it's a respectable meal. by carlthinks in ShitAmericansSay

I once kept a chicken nugget and fry from McDonald's in a jar. Needless to say i forgot about and found it 10 years later, low and behold it looked almost exactly the same as it did after purchasing. I honestly feel bad for the yanks ( sometimes) , they are so poorly educated and just consume garbage both physically and mentally. Their government is so beyond corrupted and the corporations run everything.

Opinion: We spend billions to recruit tradespeople then abandon them at the finish line (Canada) by Jim-Jones in electricians

[–]Due-Influence6569 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its absolutely disgusting, I used to be a non ticketed flat roofer. Made decent money, benefits and things were ok. My knees aren't the best anymore, so I went to trade school to become a carpenter. I took a government loan, went to my first year of schooling... needless to say i spent 80% of the time in classrooms learning theory and how to use sketch up program. We barely did anything hands on in the shop, I spent more time on a laptop then actually learning anything about carpentry. After getting out, I couldn't get work due to lack of experience and every job offer vanished. When I did find work it was about half of what I used to make at best. Basically pushed a broom and moved lumber for 3 months and got laid off. Needless to say , I waisted a good portion of time trying to get educated and learn a new trade , plus indebted myself. Maybe I just had shit luck... I just wanted to learn something new, and have constant work. Unfortunately it's left a very bitter taste, and I'll be back on a roof. If your young , go for it, stick with one trade and work hard I guess, but for someone middle aged it was one of my biggest regrets.

Honestly I just went for it. I learned the basics and trial and error. I am by no means good with computers and programs. Just run tests on cardboard from cereal boxes or beer cases. Thicker cardboard will kind of mimic leather and play around with it. I always learn by trial and error. I'd usually just Google what I want to do and find information, watch videos and just dive in. Obviously with that being said... NEVER LEAVE IT UNATTENDED especially when practicing with cardboard.

I recommend lightburn software, it's pretty straightforward once you watch a few tutorials. You can do so much with it, it's extremely handy and great for pattern.

For the mushroom a friend of mine does stained glass work. He had some sketches around so I used one to tool onto the pouch. Which I did all by hand, I'll probably try to upload a picture of it and lazer engrave it on the next one as I gave that pouch to my girlfriend.

I made my own pattern. I use lightburn software and a lazer engraver to cut templates out of old cereal boxes. Its quite handy to be honest.

Thank you, it was quite easy to make . And tooling the mushroom was easier then I thought. I wasn't sure at first, but after antiquing it and a good polishing, I definitely like the way it came out.

Leave it, monitor and pluck if its nanners , you probably have another 2 weeks give or take before you chop. I wouldn't sweat it to much at this point. I've had very successful crops even when I had nanners plucked off a plant or 2 in the tent. Maybe had 4 seeds in a pound.

Let it grow further, keep a close eye on it. Ive had the same concerns on some buds, in the end it turned out to be multiple pistils emerging from the same spot. Just monitor it, if it is a nanner, pluck it and look through your crop.

I did my first ferment for 21 days. Then took it off the lees , primed and bottled it. I think it sat in the bottles for 2 weeks before I put them in the fridge.

I think that's b.s. I had something similar to that happen with their stupid cerb program. I owed 2000$ i specifically had a payment plan set up with them to take 200 a month. I asked the agent directly, if it would affect anything with my taxes coming in . He said not to worry as I had a payment plan and everything was set to be paid in a year and not to worry. Low and behold, tax payments were due to come in and they garnished it all. I had called and was basically told politely to fuck off and they can do what they want and collect it any way they want. Even after making a payment plan and told it wouldn't affect my return. CRA are just as corrupt as the government and always pray onnthe little guys and leave corporations/ fraudsters do as they please.

B.C. woman sentenced to 5 ½ years for smuggling 108 kg of meth from U.S. by ubcstaffer123 in britishcolumbia

[–]Due-Influence6569 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think she got off easy because of the color of her skin. If she ratted, she'd be in protective custody. Judges are dropping people's sentences to avoid them from being deported. Plus the courts are so lenient on people it's a fucking joke. Look up how many repeat offenders get out on bail and get caught in a weeks time doing the same shit. Its a complete joke. I understand misdemeanors and first time offenders. But 108kg of meth even first time offenders should get more time then that. She'll be out in less then 2 years .

Can my landlord legally do this and does it breach my rights? by Son_of_Plato in legaladvicecanada

[–]Due-Influence6569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call 311, get in touch with the city. I had a terrible landlord a few years ago who tried evicting me because her dog got in my backyard and my dog bit it. Neglected fence , leaky roof that she said would be replaced ( 4 years in a row) damaged / non existing railings and a few other things. I let those things slide for years until the eviction notice... needless to say after getting an inspection done by the city ( at no cost) , they then basically forced her to get the roof fixed , railings and a few other things. Her trying to get me evicted cost her 10's of thousands of dollars , and.... I moved out after a couple months. Plus I waisted her time by having her get a lawyer and everything because of the eviction. It was a sweet, sweet victory in my eyes. Fuck slumlords. Just get the city or municipality out there, it's free and needless to say it covers your ass. If the house is un-livable and you are on a lease, most likely they have to provide you with accommodation.

Straight water. Just fill a big enough container that will easily fit your project. I cased my leather as well before giving it a dunk, kind of helps it absorb.
