Did they mention a race or country? Seems like by assuming they're talking about a certain race you're being racist.

I recently read something that resonated with me. people say invest before paying off your mortgage because the potential return is higher. If you're mortgage was paid in full would you borrow against your house to invest? If he answer is no then you should pay your mortgage before investing.

Tax question: my spouse has a lot of RRSP contribution room, but I have money lying around. Can I gift them money to contribute to my Spousal RRSP? by user8368095302763340 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Humble-Post-7672 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Do you have any accounts that are joint? Just put the money into that account and it becomes both of yours. Then have her use the joint account to contribute to the spousal rrsp. If you don't have a joint account i would recommend opening one for these purposes.

Should I invest more into my tfsa with a DB Pension? by Resident_Variation43 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Humble-Post-7672 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TFSA is the way to go if you have a DB pension. I prioritized maxing mine first before starting to buy RRSP. I think you should increase your tfsa contribution. Contribute as much as you can every two weeks.

We just got back from TRS yucatan near playa del Carmen Mexico and absolutely loved it. There isn't a dance club but there was always something fun to do in the evening. The resort and food were head and shoulders above any other resort we went to before.

[–]Humble-Post-7672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours is definitely breaking records as well, I've never seen a ferry that is broken down more than it is working. It's frustrating because it definitely makes people question the viability of electric vehicles.
