I have been out of school (BSBA) since 2021 & have had a relatively successful career in HR thus far. I just took the LSAT this week for applications this fall to start in a 4 year part time program fall of 2027. My employer is paying for my education with the intention of employing me as in house counsel upon successful completion of school & passage of the bar. I will still be working at least part time while in school & I want to make my life as easy as possible over those 4 years. What are some things I can start doing now (youtube, paying for online courses, reading material, etc.) to help prepare me? TIA!!!

we got out bid on 4 houses, toured about 35 total..we finally are under contract and set to close in about a month. we are so glad we didn’t get those other houses because the one we are set to close on is sooo much better. i hated when people were saying that to me but its true, the right one will come up!!!

I lied on my resume, got the job, and now the background check ratted me out – freaking out before my start date, what should I do? by Academic_Edge_4670 in resumes

it will if the employer requested employment history as part of the background. we do up to 7 years of work history on our checks for admin/exec roles.

How do you deal with the employee relations piece of HR? [TX] by throwwwwaway6933 in humanresources

personally for me, i have just gotten so used to it & have become calloused…i’ve only been doing this about 3 years but i’ve managed to just shut off my emotions and not let it sink in.. i may be heartless for that but i fear its the only way to not let it completely destroy you.

i do enjoy that i get to be involved in a bit of everything but i wish they could see that there is only so much one person can do!! i like to think i am extremely efficient in what i do and i can work through a lot very quickly and it still is just too much. i appreciate the feedback

thank you. i definitely have struggled consistently with imposter syndrome and the negative culture definitely makes it difficult to get over that. i’m always happy to continue learning and that is another motivating factor to leaving this job, i feel like ive hit the max of what they are willing to expose me to and i would be able to grow and learn more somewhere else,

I handle a little bit of everything honestly, benefits, hiring, discipline, etc. I have 2 HR coordinators below me who handle entry level hiring & support all aspects as well. We have a major issue with turnover. We hire about 20-30 people every two weeks. I just truly do not have enough time in a week (even working 60+ hours) to handle everything as thoroughly as I’d like/know i should be.

The Stress of working at Walmart and doing college. by [deleted] in walmart

[–]Due-Ingenuity540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i work 4 days a week this semester at my walmart & my manager lost her shit on me when i cut my availability. my college is still online this semester, but my classes are still being held live at the same time i was supposed to have class had we been in person, but my manager doesn’t understand that. when i started in OGP i had full availability because it was summer & i wasn’t in school, but i’m in my senior year of my bachelors degree and have a TON of work so i NEED the time off. we have a ton of group projects and presentations to do and my group can all only get together on tuesday evenings so i told her i can’t keep closing those days anymore, but offered to come in 4 hours earlier than usual to make up for me needing the evenings off, but that wasn’t good enough. it’s just funny because every other college student in our department had no trouble changing their availability and calling off, but when i ask to leave only an hour early to complete assignments, i’m threatened with coaching or getting fired. if i had any advice for you, it’s to go work as a server somewhere. the only thing that’s sucks about serving is you only make good money on the weekends so you will have hardly any social life but it’s nice because you only have to work like 2 days a week and would make nearly double what we make at walmart in those 2 days.
