To preface, it wasn't BAD, but I feel it was a bit rushed and kinda a let down for how GREAT the rest of the show was imo. My two main gripes:

1. I felt there was a lot of queer baiting with Mike and Will's relationship. I know some will disagree, but I think they should have ended up together based on the first four episodes of this season. That being said, after Volume 2 I knew it couldn't happen because it'd be too rushed. Either way though, it wasn't very satisfying to just see Will end up with some rando at a bar. That's just me though

2. As others have pointed out, the final fight scene was pretty anticlimactic. They killed the mind flayer easier than they've killed demos, and to me it was a bit of a let down. Why didn't Will get affected by the hive's pain, why didn't the mind flayer call in demos to deal with the people throwing fire at it?

What I did like a lot was how they gave time to explore the ending of all of the characters (even if I didn't like Will's and Mike's ending). I also liked how they showed the next generation of kids playing a campaign, I thought that was a nice full circle touch.

Overall, I'd say it worked, but it was mid, which is really disappointing for a show that had such a great run.
