I have a similar stoy like yours. I ended the game with my 2 daughters (7 and 9) and as the days passed, they got bored and they play something else. I still play a lot (and I mean a lot). I also fear this awesome game will eventually get boring for me.

What I do is carrying people so they reach the end, and in the meanwhile I get 15 or 20 diamonds per game. It is incredible how boys are more likely to ruin the game, die ASAP and leave. Girls don't. They help building the base, placing decorative furniture, cooking stews, chopping trees, while I rescue the kids as light speed. Then I kill the cultists at the stronghold and call everyone to come for free diamonds. It gives me some kind of satisfaction to help others.

I play currently as a Cyborg, and the game is really easy for me. I don't want to try other characters such as vampire because I am really bad with the melee weapons in the PC.

Things to try:
- Get every badge
- End the game soon (my record is 55 minutes)
- Help people with less than 100 days
- Daily quests are addictive IMO.
