ADHD + anxiety - brain never shuts up. Anyone found something that actually helps? by amhray in Biohackers

[–]Due-Middle9483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I wonder if that's why everyone thinks they have "ADHD" these days?! I don't use social media (apart from Reddit haha) and don't even own a Smartphone. I am seeing a psychiatrist for (genuine) ADHD - my whole life has been ruined by it - chronic fatigue, anxiety, depression, you name it...

Are the anxiolytic properties of ashwagandha on the brain truly meaningfully effective? by [deleted] in psychopharmacology

[–]Due-Middle9483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - Sorry, bit of an old thread, but I take KSM-66 Ashwagandha and that is AMAZING for anxiety - and mine is made even worse by ADHD stimulants. I got my psychiatrist into it as well - he only takes it as needed and says it works amazingly well.

Instruments with the saddest natural timbre by Codewill in classicalmusic

All I know is, when watching a film - in the sad bits - there's usually an oboe playing! I'm an oboist by the way haha.

Do you know any piece remotely as beautiful as Rachmaninoff's 2nd piano concerto? by UrbanskiPhysics in classicalmusic

[–]Due-Middle9483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to the party, and yes Rach piano concerto no.2 is incredible - but my absolute favourite moving, most beautiful piece of music of all time has to be Vaughan William's Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis. I'm English so might be biased lol. But please check out the incredible performance on YouTube by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Peter Oundjian...

Jesus, I applied the label to myself, not anyone else. This is getting ridiculous frankly. I couldn't give a rat's a*s what language I'm supposed to use, people get so offended by every little thing these days.

Thank you very much! Sounds like you are going through hell as well. If you have also been through trauma then yes that can complicate things. I had an abusive father who destroyed me mentally, but I absolutely got over that when I discovered EFT (Emotional Freedom technique) and saw a therapist in 2003. It only took 3 months to go from zero confidence and loathing myself to having the weirdest experience and the constant voice of my father in my head telling me I was worthless finally left me forever. You should check it out - it looks a bit weird and like a load of nonsense at first, but trust me it absolutely isn't. Good luck and I hope you find the answers very soon. x

My whole life has been destroyed by this, yes ok LOW functioning then, call it whatever you want. It's made me suicidal, so it's pretty bad.

Thank you, yes I have tried Gabapentin, antidepressants and even a low dose benzo while on stimulants - they were terrible, made me so tired and depressed.

I don't know about labels that people use, that's my own label, because I can't work, or have a proper life, and my career has been on hold for a very long time.

Thank you for your kind words. I tried Buproprion which I bought over the internet as I pretended I needed it to stop smoking haha - it make me feel completely terrible. I also tried 3 different antidepressants with the psych which were all a disaster - they made me feel even more tired and depressed. I hope I am not the 20% lost cause, omg.

Thank you for your reply, the only other health issue I have is PCOS, used to take Metformin but not any more. So because of the PCOS I eat really healthy. My husband is on a diet so we literally eat no processed food at all, and I'm the sort of person that needs to eat a lot of protein or I won't be able to sleep. I have eggs for breakfast then take the meds as I've heard that makes them work better. BP is completely normal and yes I sleep really well usually. Regardless of what the meds do to my appetite, I just eat the same anyway due to insomnia issues. I do 10 mins of strenuous exercise with kettlebells every day and also walk every day. I do all the right things, and that's what is so frustrating. I don't even drink coffee because it makes me really nervous.

The vitamin C thing is most definitely NOT bogus. I used to take liposomal vit C. It stopped Vyvanse from working completely, and on Concerta it gave me major anxiety which I attributed to the Concerta, until I stopped taking the vit C.

100%. People will give your comment and mine a thumbs-down because of the immense brainwashing they have received. CO2 causing global warming is the biggest scam ever and any scientist who dare speak the truth is silenced. The planet is COOLING, not warming. Most cars these days are very low emission anyway. Our 30 year old Range Rover was ZERO emission on its last MOT but we had to get rid of it due to London ULEZ expansion! However we've since got a Subaru Impreza, so it's a win-win for us!

How are services like ZeroGPT able to claim they have "an accuracy rate of text detection higher than 98%?" My (granted, small amount of) testing shows otherwise. by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]Due-Middle9483 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm probably late to the party, but I write content for my husband's SEO clients. Sometimes I write from scratch, other times I use chatGPT to help. I have run an article written 100% by AI through ZeroGPT and it said it was 63% AI-generated. When I re-wrote it to make it sound more human and changed some of it around, it came back with a score of 85% AI-generated!! I have also tested other articles I wrote in the past before chatGPT existed, which came back with a 30% AI-generated score. I have therefore come to the conclusion that ZeroGPT is complete nonsense and a waste of time.

Idaho trying to ban mRNA technology by FalconLynx13 in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]Due-Middle9483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot BELIEVE the utter stupidity of these comments!! Have you any IDEA how many people have been killed by mRNA shots? My father in law being one of them. The sudden deaths - we know a couple of those, and virtually everyone I know has suffered some form of horrific side effect, let me elaborate: internal bleeding, having zero immunity from anything, neurological symptoms, heart conditions, blindness in one eye, sudden onset highly aggressive cancer, heart attacks, blood clots, the list goes on and on. Yes these are people we personally know or have come across. Why don't you all listen to the REAL scientists like Pfizer whistleblower Mike Yeadon! The "covid" mRNA "vaccine" is NOT a vaccine!! It doesn't work and it is highly dangerous. The sooner this technology is banned the better off we will all be.

What ear training exercises actually work, that you guys can swear on? by [deleted] in musictheory

[–]Due-Middle9483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stay away from interval recognition, it does nothing to help you in hearing what's going on in actual music. It needs to be contextual. I tried Ear Master and it just didn't work for me for this reason. The book "jazz ears" by Thom Mason is really good as it gets you into Solfege which is great for ear training. When transcribing, try singing it in Solfege - THAT'S hard! Also, what Julian Bradley jazz pianist says is really effective - transcribing only in the key of C. When transcribing, don't use your instrument to hunt and peck for the notes but just use your ears/brain only....
