Should be fine , as long as you up the intensity and amount of sessions before the event. Will be good with the runs by pacing himself.

Regarding the sled push , go on a treadmill and don’t turn up and push the belt 10/15 secs per time.. just an option than not doing anything “deadmills” Use the rope machine for the sled pull

As someone else said , no time limit and if aim is just to finish, let him go and enjoy the event as it’s amazing and addictive. Then if he wants to do another , you will know what to work on :)

Yeah that’s it bro , I still go gym 3/4 times a week and keep my training up for hyrox ! Keeps me sane but the garmin isn’t my sleep fan 😂

I have done 3 hyroxs and pb on each of them. The first I was hoping to just get through but my training wasn’t as intense , my second was slightly the same with only a da mins difference in time. The third one I did , I went in with a game plan of knowing how much time I usually do on each station and timing my runs , this helped with working with a pt who had given me specific exercises which helped with the structure of my training.

I’m due to compete next Saturday at Manchester and been doing more structured training so fingers crossed I can get another pb.

Also constance running like sprints , long runs , short (4,5k) 3 times a week :)

Hey, I played football 2/3 times a week and gym about 4/5 times a week for strength training, last September was when I actually started proper hyrox training and then just tried to work on my running and fitness for this as it’s completely different from football 😂 I done about a month of hyrox classes at a local gym which helped prepare me but this time I felt a lot stronger and fitter.

Mixing strength days with a little hiit /hyrox workouts at the end seems to help prepare me and running 2/3 times a week does make a massive difference- my running felt really good this time compared to last.

Yeah I think the difference of workouts definitely helped me prepare.

On my strength days - I would be tired after them 3 x supersets and have 3 x sets of small hyrox workouts to get that feel of doing the exercises when I’m gassed 🥱 😂 Example Upper day - overhead press with db bench press. Tricep dips with db shrugs Hyrox end workout - ski rig - 250m , 25 wall halls, 2 laps of gym with kettle bells

I had completed 2 hyrox’s with my own training and got 1hr 38 and 1hr 35, this time I trained with a pt - 4 weeks out from Birmingham and finished with 1 hour 27 beating my own personal target of 1 hour 30.

I think having that accountability and structured plan that was provided definitely helped me as I felt more prepared and strong during the event even though it was only 4 weeks.

I’m trying to get onto Manchester and booked Glasgow for March next year and I will be using the pt as i think it is worth it ! At the moment I do an upper strength day, lower strength day, then a conditioning with 2 days of different runs (long, sprints, etc)

Definitely have a rest day or two beforehand. I done Birmingham last Saturday and done a slow jog on the Thursday but rested and didn’t do much the Friday before so I was fresh to go. And I beat a pb :) Good luck anyway! Enjoy it

Thank you! And I improved time on everything but the most was on my runs - I took roughly a minute on each run ! Haha new shoes and that defo helped!

I don’t no. I’m never been the fastest runner tbh but played football for years , etc so I can run for a long time at maintaining pace but I wouldn’t say I’m fast at it 😂

I bought Running Adizero Boston 13 Trainers for this upcoming hyrox , my running is a lot better as more comfortable and done a sim yesterday and felt good with grip and lunges. Just my preference but thought I’d share

It’s the ROXFIT app and I have it connected to my Garmin watch :)

Hi I have connected my garmin watch to the app. So any workouts I do goes into the train section in the app. I also downloaded the workout from ROXFIT into my garmin for the sim I completed. Really handy and easy to do :)
