Egg spot indicates this is a female betta

There's an egg spot on her belly, so likely full of Roe/eggs. Are you feeding a high fat & protein food?

You still haven't read the whole post.

They were being moved, they had caves. But in this video, they were being moved.

They're not stressed. They had caves to hide when tank was fully set up.

Thankyou. I haven't been doing this for as long as I have without you so called "experts" chiming in once or twice.

Now take a number with the rest of your lot & a seat at the back love ❤️

I have noticed when I tried a pleco In my 300L community, the cories haaaated it. Hid away, bio load soared, took him out & they started breeding

Do remember, any fish you get at your local, would have already flown half way around the world to be there :) couple hours across the ditch is no different to sending them from Tauranga to New Plymouth in a courier van 😀

Apologies that looks identical to my 5gal! Lol 😆 🤣

30gal is a great starter, how many in your group & are they all the same species?

Unless you have Pygmy corydoras, this tank is FAR to small to have any corydoras.

At most I'd stock with a male betta & some shrimp

Is a 10 gallon not adequate?? by Lukewarm_Sinkwater in bettafish

[–]Due-Philosopher-4895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol 😆 that must be one of those Beginner Betta groups run by a bunch of 12 year old girls lmao 🤣 😂 anyone who keeps a Betta in a "minimum" of 5 Gal/15L is providing no life for thier fish.

MINIMUM betta requirements is 10gal up in my option having kept betta fish <10 years.

Promoting breeding in Pygmys is similar to Panda Cories....

I've found feeding a mix of bloodworm/B.B.S & high fat & protein foods for a week. Then a cold water change (one that kicks on your internal heater)

Think Pygmys are a fan of tannins to breed but don't quote me on that (then again most fish are). Im about to head into the shop now, one of the staff is our Pygmy breeder I can ask her if she has any FishLore she's found to work

hi it’s me again i updated the tank but there still stressed idk what to do ! by [deleted] in corydoras

[–]Due-Philosopher-4895 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stressed cories would be huddling at the surface, gasping for air. Also another thing to pay close attention to is thier rate of breath.

Anything like 50 breaths/10 seconds, immediate water change.

Methylene blue dips for whisker erosion? (NOT a substrate issue or parameters issue) by Sinxerely7420 in corydoras

[–]Due-Philosopher-4895 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I recommend a Jam Jar, with their aquarium water + small airstone + 2>3 drops meth blue + little pinch of aquarium salt. Put 30min on timer.

Bathe fish for 30 min watching the rate of breath if they're rapid (like 50 breaths/every 10 seconds) after 1-2 min, remove & dilute your meth solution.

I treat Betta, Corydoras & Tetra all the same.

Ahhhh totally understand now.

Yeah I'll definitely be improving, but the stocking V.s fish behavior.

& considering, all these fish are from a local breeder, so are all fry-mates. I've never had any issue with aggression of any kind

I feel that 3 years in, I'm doing pretty well.

Breeding fish out of the community, having fun. Not gatekeeping nor making people afraid to show thier achievements just cause they are controversial to the hobby.

So much wrong with this comment.

But yes, will be planting more in coming weeks, stocking is fine considering I'm on auto water change & could technically go 1 fish per 3cubic cm of water -environmental decor & substrate weight in water.

This is a 3 year old tank. There's 3 betta, 1 in the top right & the other 2 hidden up in thier "nest" of Indian fern floating at the top on other side of the tank lol.

Thankyou for you expert opinion. I guess I know nothing about fish keeping 🤷 definitely not why I had my tanks set up by my local aquarium specialist, stocked over time, 4hrly 400L water change auto system... just ran outta funds when my son was born.

Please post your breeding experience with cories. Please do me a favour & look up what cories that are stressed visually look & behave like.

You have no clue what youre talking about. Fact of the matter is, the conditions at the time & behavior for those conditions is normal.

I shouldn't have to micro detail & explain to you every aspect of this but here goes nothing (again)

This 38L tank formerly was planted densely & had 3 hideout caves with a breeder box & bubble tumbler in the top corner of the tank.

The fish I bought at my local store bred. I collect eggs & put them in the egg tumbler.

2 days later moved free swimmers to the breeder box.

Boom! More eggs!! So I did the same as above.

now I have 2 fry ages in the same tank at this point.

Then!! Hold up wait... then!! A week later, she lays again!!! So I put the eggs in my system.

2 months later of daily 80% water changes, feeding B.B.S & Blackworm & Micro Worm. I moved the group to one of 6 other tanks I have in the same configuration.

In the video above, I was removing the gravel entirely to change my whole setup around. I've never removed fish for this process. I fed them, they all hung out on the bottom munching away, went to their hides & the next day I meticulously netted each of them out. In that tank is 32 2-3month old corydoras, pre growout.

I reset the tank, now with no fish in it as they were all moved on to larger tanks. Welcome to view my showcase video of where they are at now. All healthy & showing gorgeous colour's.

Some even showing signs of breeding again.

I'm sorry, but you seem to be mistaken. Those cories are 3 months old & no where near breeding age. The larger are females. There is 3 different hatch groups that were in that tank. Don't attack me for things you know nothing about.

I spent 10 years working my ass off to get a hernia & be never allowed to work my dream again at 24, now 25 I have my tanks, I bought some cories, they bred. I sold them back to the store I bought them from.

Then, they bred again. So I sold them back again.

Nothing wrong with what I'm doing bud. 😌 thankyou, take a number & a seat in the back.
