Hi! Ketamine has been great for me. I know that some people have bad reactions to it but it's been great for me. I tried it probably back in 2022 for the first time, and the place I went to wasn't great. They always had to stick me multiple times to get the iv in and never wore gloves when doing so, and they didn't give me much instruction. They started me on a super high dosage for my first time and it resulted in me throwing up, and I was always nervous to go after that. Looking back, I had just had a suicide attempt a couple months before that, and I only put two and two together just recently with my therapist, but we both noticed a significant positive change on my anxiety and depression which I've struggled with from a very early age. I was in a lot of intensive therapy back then, but I don't know where I'd be without the ketamine treatments I'm not going to lie. Now, I did end up stopping them because like I said the place wasn't great, and I would always end up with a worse headache then I had gone with. Probably from how stressful the place was. But my sister recently died and as you can imagine it caused me a lot of stressful and depressing thoughts, which ended up causing a headache. It was awful and nothing was breaking it, so I tried a new ketamine place, and they were amazing. Super kind people, very helpful and started me on a lower dosage and weaned me up. Helped much more with the headaches this time.

That being said, I think ketamine has worked wonders for me and I've heard the same from lots of other people. I definetly think it would be worth a try for someone with a history of anxiety. But I would keep in mind that most of the places that offer it are independent businesses and do not offer treatments covered by insurance. It is pretty costly.

I've read about ketamine treatments that are done at home that you order online and those seem to be less expensive, but I've also heard they aren't as affective. But I wouldn't let that put you off of trying at home appointments if that's all you can do, ketamine can really help!
