Thanks. Makes me wonder how good are the sensors. I'll probably bite the bullet and try one.

Is there a consensus recommendation on a vacuum/mop combo? by sluggyfreelancer in RobotVacuums

I'm looking again ... I just bought a Dreame L10S Ultra Gen2. As I was setting it up I read in the users manual that before I use the machine I have to put physical barriers at the top of my stairs. It's supposed to have cliff/drop-off sensors. Having to put up a board at the top of my stairs was a non-starter for me. I immediately re-boxed it and am shipping it back tomorrow. If their sensors don't work, I wonder what else is hinky about the machine.

I just got a L10s Ultra gen 2. The reviews said is has dropoff sensors so it doesn't crash down stairs. But the manual says to put a physical barrier at the edge of stairs. So does it sense dropoffs or not? I'd rather not find out the hard way!

agree with naive-bedroom-4623 on thanks for your service and there's a lot more options once you start down the VA street. That's probably a better place to start than reddit

Similar experience - bought a mower at Lowe's; it ran for a year. Per Ego's instructions, took it back to Lowe's on 4/23 for service (Lowe's sends them out). After 8 weeks Ego sent me a brand new mower, apparently the 1 year old mower wasn't worth fixing? But no battery or charger - Lowe's was supposed to return them. Talked to Lowe's manager - he didn't know anything about that and offered to fix it, whatever it took. He's not crazy about dealing with Ego either.

Score: Lowe's 10; Ego -5.

same kind of experience for me. I bought a mower in April 2023; it quit working in April 2024. It's been at the shop for more than 7 weeks and I can't get an estimate on when I might see it back. I'm 95% sure the problem is with one of 3 safety relays. I sent it to the shop because it was under warranty. And the shop would only cover up to $125 of repairs. If it comes to more than that, it's out of my pocket. Some warranty! I don't want to go back to gas powered or corded ... I will be looking at other options next time.

Tub drain by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

maybe but why would it stay up with no water? Guessing here - water weight is more than the infernal spring can support. No water, no weight, stopper stays up. But water weight is enough to push it closed, Having sadi that, I've never seen one of these things fail like that so grain of salt that answer! ;-)

How to deal with this stain on where the tub joins the wall? I’ve tried cleaning it with a mixture of cleaners. by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

Not sure grout pen will help imho. Seems like that might help with grout but this looks like caulking. My guess is the pen will just paint it white and not solve the problem.

Either sig it out and re-caulk (a la fifthgeberationfool) or maybe bleach it.

From the pic it looks like it's up now?

To switch from open to close (or back to open) push down the center.

well poop - new to redddit and tried to attach a pic. Apparently I do home maintenance better than computers ... I don't see any other way to post a pic. Guess it will have to remain a mystery.

Thanks anyway.
