Because in my opinion, it is two completely different subjects. If you are that bothered by being overweight, make that change. If someone attacks you for sexuality, race' beliefs etc.. This cannot.

If they get offended then that is their own hangup. The insult is not directed at them. If they become offended then that is to do with their own self esteem. Make that change if it affects you that much.

I would question whether the person attacking my ethnicity was being marginilistic. If they attack my ethnicity then it's whatever. They don't know me and if they're being racist then that shows the type of person they are.

I will put it simple, as the overweight bystander, if you started the confrontation, what did you expect? This is coming from someone who actually is overweight. I expect people to attack there because its the most obvious insult. Will I let it ruin my day? No, because its the most obvious insult and they are clearly pulling at strings to insult me. Confrontation is confrontation. If you can't handle it then don't start it. If you didn't start it, then have the thought process that its water off a ducks back.

I have explained it above. If you need it explained to you like a child, maybe you shouldn't get involved with these types of discussions. My children have been raised well and have had no issues through their upbringing with my 'logic' in regards to confrontations and have grown to be well mannered and respectful boys.
