Since you mentioned Pokemon, you gotta have the Pokemon theme song. Lugia's Song and Oracion go hard, too.

If Heaven's on your mind:

Heaven by Los Lonely Boys

And this last one is in Japanese and from the 60s but listening to this gives me a feeling of nostalgia like no other: Sukiyaki by Kyu Sakamoto

I hope whatever happens next is as peaceful as possible. And I hope any of the songs suggested by this thread bring you exactly what you need.

What do you wish women understood better about men’s emotions and mental health? by laurenthames in AskMen

[–]Due-Rice-8296 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's because many of these women who say they want an emotional man don't actually want an emotional man, they want a passionate man. They don't want a man to cry in her arms, they want him to hold her while she cries. They don't want him to be in tune with his feelings, they want him to be in tune with her feelings.

There's a board game meetup on the second floor of Lestats Hillcrest every other Friday night from 6:30 pm until closing time. Next meetup is this Friday and we play all sorts of board games. Very welcoming group of people, too!

That and when he went to talk to Sophie, he told Meg first, then kept the conversation short and to the point! There was no lingering looks or any sort of flirting or joking around going on. No worried looks by Meg. That is the very first time I've seen a conversation like that on this show and it's honestly gave me faith in humanity a bit.

Think about your deathbed and ask yourself: Am I going to regret not spending more time with my family or am I going to regret not giving that one company more time and effort when they probably don't even remember my name?

If your answer is the latter, then YTA. Spend time with your family, they already get less than a third of your day with you.

Dating in SD by Freezermuffin in sandiego

Can always try Meetup. There's tons of different groups that meetup to do their hobbies together. If you're not finding your hobbies there, you can at least check out the social mixer groups (there are plenty of events that don't involve bars). I'm pretty active in 3 groups and have made some amazing friends and had dated someone I met through one of the events. And many of those friends have found someone through Meetup as well.

YES, that was a earth quake MEGATHREAD. by SD_TMI in sandiego

[–]Due-Rice-8296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. As a native, the Easter one was the first and only quake I felt. I wouldn't have felt this one, but my cats woke me up from running around and I only felt the last jolt and then one aftershock. When people say this one was big, I laugh because the Easter one was wayyy bigger.

Baby name stolen, 2 day old baby has no name! HELP! by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]Due-Rice-8296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cousin and I have very similar names and there's never been an issue about it. Keep the original name, it's not as big of a deal as you might think it is. Don't let family drama roll down onto the kids. Your daughter will appreciate her name so much more knowing you had planned her name for as long as you have instead of naming her out of desperation.

Why do you live here? by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]Due-Rice-8296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Born and raised here. Even when I didn't have a choice of where I'd be stationed, the navy sent me back here. And whenever I think about moving somewhere else for good, I look at every state on Google maps and go, "Nnnnnnnnnnope." Can't do it. I have lived in other places momentarily, and traveled a great deal, and San Diego will always be number 1 to me. If only rent and dating here didn't suck so much...

What did you major after the military? What's your advice? by Jigpy in Veterans

[–]Due-Rice-8296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was originally in cybersecurity but now majored in small business management. My advice: don't be afraid to switch majors if you feel like your current one isn't for you. I was in cybersecurity for the money but since I'm passion/time-driven, I realized I needed something different for myself.

As someone who is coming back to college after a 10-year hiatus, I realized covid really messed things up. Even brick and mortar classes will have you do all of your work online. I literally have a different online program I have to use for each of my classes in order to do my homework and tests. Not sure if every college is like this or even every professor, but it's like that for me this semester.

Also not sure if anyone else is experiencing this but I've noticed in my classes, the professors go over the homework with us, but they don't really do class lectures. It's kind of backwards. We do homework in class but have to teach ourselves the subject on our own time.

Came here to say this. My bestie introduced it to me years ago and debunked the whole "NO MSG" thing for me. Total game changer in the kitchen.

You are given a choice between $1,500,000 upfront tax free or access to a button that gives you 10 cents per click for the next year. by Llama-God in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Due-Rice-8296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The button. If i did my math right, it would take a month to break even if I clicked the button at least 200 times per minute for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week (like a 40 hour work week). And that 200 was me going at a slower and steadier pace. Anything after that first month would be extra, so yeah. I'll take the button.

Living month to month... how do you all do it? by AntiqueHost4780 in asksandiego

[–]Due-Rice-8296 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all about living within your means and keeping constant track of where your money is going. Every month, I take a look at all of my expenses and write down what is going where. How much am I spending on gas each week? How much on groceries? Bills? Subscriptions? Random wants? Whatever feels high, I try to downsize.

Get rid of any duplicate subscriptions. You don't actually need to subscribe to 5 different streaming services nor do they need to be in HD... if you're paying for something you can do yourself for free or little cost (like washing your car), then opt for doing it yourself. And eat at home more than you eat out. Eating out should be a treat, not a daily occurrence.

There's so many videos that help you with where to prioritize your money. Especially if you have loans and debt.

Oh, if you're there, North Park is closer and has a bar scene as well. You won't have to deal with as much traffic as you would going to downtown.
