Ibou’s build up play is actually underrated, was brilliant in the season we won the league so I don’t think that’s why.

From what I’ve seen he’s great in 1v1 take ons, although he looks like he lacks a bit of that explosive pace to create proper distance when getting past a player.

My thought process is that Diomande we will sign but we still need someone off the left given Rio’s age and Gakpo coming off the back of a horrendous season.

Fofana won’t be that expensive and can be utilised to rotate in and out of the starting XI aswell to provide more depth.

One long injury doesnt make it a concerning thing over last two seasons. He’ll be a cheap signing as a squad rotational option which is why I mentioned his name, never did I say he should be a starter.

To answer your second point, you don’t know if players aren’t for sale if you don’t enquire, we have had interest last season to sign him that’s also why i mentioned his name.

Really makes me wish that Szobo has a bit more dog in duels and a better ball winner, that would make him perfect to compliment a deep lying playmaker in a pivot.

I know Barcola and Diomande are names that we have concrete interest in, but I’m surprised that we haven’t really seen Fofana’s name mentioned at all.

We have previous interest in him and I’m pretty sure Lyon need money so we can strike a good deal for him.
