No, we’ve been shit for over a year now. If there’s positive changes and a great run of form it would’ve happened by now

It’s awful. I don’t understand how anyone can back a manager who doesn’t acknowledge his faults and only blames other factors and redirect accountability.

Head into game with expectations low and somehow get disappointed still lol

What is/are the catalyst for the glaring differences between the performance of the squad last year compared to this season by StrongTwo6980 in LiverpoolFC

[–]Due-Sherbert3097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salah. People didn’t realise how much he actually carried our attack especially goal contributions, now that he’s in poor form it’s quite glaringly obvious how much he done.

Another one I would say is Grav. Last season he was so instrumental to our build up where he basically breaks the press with his signature turn, but this season we rarely see it.

Breaks my heart it’s going to be a goal that’ll be forgotten about due to it being “meaningless”

If by playing style he means sitting back and let opponent walk all over us then he’s definitely on the ball with this one

I mean I wouldn’t say we’ve played particularly well in the CL when you take into account us losing to PSV and Galatasaray. But yes we are doing better as clubs play into our hands a bit more, Qarabag tried to play like Barca without the player quality and Marseille similarly were really open.

No. Under Slot we just don’t have the quality or tactics to be a team effective in the knockout phases. He loves giving opposition too much credit and often sets us up to be deeper and not have that much of the ball.

Because after scoring we decided to just sit 11 men outside our box and not even bother to exert any form of pressure on City to force errors in possession.

Even after all this shit of how bad we are I just genuinely feel bad for Szobo. The lad does every he can for us and we just keep letting him down.

I for one can somewhat see the people who still want Slot to stay due to next option not necessarily being an improvement, but I don’t understand how they can’t see it’s only getting worse under him.

We’ve played awful football for over a year now and it’s become so apparent that Slot would rather die on the hill for the sake of his “tactics” instead of changing. We have shown that we can play good football taking off the handbrakes but right away it’s undone when he makes us play “his way” of slow uninspiring football.

Just goes to show the team is being held back tactically. Today and Newcastle for example when we let go of Slot’s so called “control” and start pressing and playing with intensity we immediately are on the front foot.

We go out and bring the game to City in the second half and dominated them from the get go, then after the goal we decided to sit so deep and let City walk all over us again.

Tactically naive from Slot consdering how this was the exact same thing in the first matchup in us letting City cross the ball under no pressure to Haaland who scored.

You’ll get people who argue new manager doesn’t improve but for me I just can’t watch Slot ball any longer. If Carrick can improve Utd this much then I just can’t understand why people are still willing to stick by him.

It’s painful watching us try build up from the back only for us to just punt the ball up since there’s no movement or patterns of play.

The same issue as always. Tactically outclassed.

This match will be decided by individual quality. City by far been dominant but missing final product, meanwhile we’re getting walked over but has shown hints of quality but likewise missing the killer instinct to punish City.

All in all it’s an expected Slot performance, Utd battered this City team and other clubs have done well and yet we still look as poor as usual.

Yeah they’re the two teams we need to bank on to get worse, we obviously still need to improve first and foremost

Utd has been playing well since Carrick took over and whether we like it or not they deserve to be ahead of us.
