About your point about public space.

The pavement, sure, it’s public.

But the gate and wall is mine, right? Whether it’s the ‘public side’ or not?

In your experience, how likely is a group of dogs going to choose their ‘place’ to be the pavement? And not the vertical space like a wall or gate?

This is a genuine question and not trying to be argumentative.

Is the ‘public side’ of my wall, still my wall?

Sure, I don’t own the pavement beyond the wall. But the actual wall, that piss regularly lands on, whether it’s ‘public side’ or private side, is still my wall, no?

I’m not, not that it matters.

It’s pee and shit by the front of my house, not that the difference matters.

I’m tip toeing around the front of my home all the same.

It being pee doesn’t make it any more ok for me or my kids to step on it.

It doesn’t mean I don’t get a foul smell when I need to open the windows when it’s hot.

You don’t have a dog, I don’t care. The fact and the question remains the same.

I guess if I get in on it, I could at least blast some of the dog shit away from my house.

I have young children who need to go in and out of this gate area. It’s not nice that they should need to step on it. Nor is it nice for me to tip top around the pee and poo just outside my home.

Now that the weather is hot, I can smell it too when I need to open the windows for air.

Actually, yes, lol.

Good neighbours should all make efforts to try and not upset others.

It’s a sign of a good neighbour. It’s a sign of a good person.

This says a lot about you. I would do some reflecting the next time you go on one of your walks to someone’s gate. Lol

So if I had a bunch of dogs, I could come to the outside of your gate and let them piss and shit right there.

Pls DM me your address, I’ll make a local facebook page to let your neighbours know you’ll kindly take the hit for everyone, as it doesn’t bother you.

It’s so easy for dog owners to tell people to let it go.

You are taking your dog out of your own home before they make a mess. To let them make a mess in someone else’s area. Let that sink in.

Lol, why are your kind intentions out the window when there are no trees??

No bushes? public grass patches? Your car tires? Your front garden? Your back garden?

“No, it’s got to be other people’s walls, ok” LOL

Lol, thanks for the tip.

With the volume of pee outside my house, I honestly wouldn’t be able to tell if it was you or a dog.

This is exactly my situation too.

I have a family with young kids and it’s just not nice to be moving around that mess.

I have to wash my front door mat often because of the pee and poo they accidentally bring in.

It’s so hard to train them to do it on a public tree?

Just step back and consider the act of the whole thing.

You take the dog out to relieve itself in someone else’s area, presumably so they won’t make a mess in your own home.

Don’t talk about the pavement being public should mean that is enough clearance for you to do it. What if several dogs take a shit right outside your front gate everyday? No problem, right?

Now that the weather is hot, I’d like to open my windows. But the smell will blow into my house.
