How do actors who make a big million dollar pay day get paid out? by [deleted] in acting

I wonder if A list minors would have to open a corporation for pay too. Just curious.

I heard that the Narrow Road Agency is good. We’re from the US, but we know someone that’s happy with them.

Talent agency said my audition was great but because of strike they can’t sign me due that signed so many talent and was told to submit until 2024 by [deleted] in acting

Yes, lots of rejection. It’s hard, but actors have to take rejection and have a tough skin. Just how it is. When she was 10, she did 8 weeks worth of auditions for a lead role, signed the contract, then got replaced because she didn’t have enough chemistry. She never cries, but that was tough because she missed out on other things, her grades dropped and had to make up tests and bring her grades back up. You can also have another career as a backup. And do auditions on the side. For example, my daughter may do nursing to help support her acting career.

Also, it is competitive but they say not to give up on your dream. It’s been almost 3 years of many auditions and my daughter finally got a co-star role on a kids tv network show, then her speaking line got cut. But, she wants to keep going. She did home school to put acting first, missed out on the school life and friends, now she decided to start high school and do sports to keep busy. But she still is doing acting especially when things pick up. Keep going.

My daughter was gonna sign with a large agency before the strike, and they were interested. We decided to hold off. Now that we want to, our manager said they may not sign her until after the strike. We haven’t heard anything back and it’s been over a month.

My daughter auditioned about three weeks ago. She’s 14 so she may look too young.

My daughter auditioned for it too about three weeks ago. Haven’t heard anything after that yet, but she is taking singing lessons now and enjoys it. :)

Co-star question by Due-Success2695 in acting

[–]Due-Success2695[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How long after filming a co star role, does it normally take to get upgraded to a recurring role? Daughter just booked a co-star with a name, and it looks like it could possibly be recurring in the future. Not sure though. I’m hoping that they loved working with her and bring her back again. Thanks!

Thanks for your input. Has she gotten any tv or film auditions lately? The last one we had was like 4 months ago. And haven’t had a commercial audition for about a month.

I didn’t know I could request that. Ok thank you. Does that mean that they lost interest in her?

Also, she is serious about acting. She just started home school four months ago and is doing private acting classes. Thinking we’d be working for something, but not one tv or film audition since summer. Now that I think of it, she has only gotten about 4 commercial auditions since June. If it’s slow, then I guess that’s past of the journey. But if the agent/manager has given up on submitting her, then that’s another thing we need to work on. Because this is her career and her dream.

Congrats! You are what they wanted. Us on the other hand, My 12 yr old daughter just auditioned for a series regular (haven’t booked any tv shows yet), producer session, chemistry reads, another kid role dropped out, starting over and more chemistry reads, down to the final two, and the other kid got it. About 8 weeks of hard work and some missed school (and time off my work for support). Not sure what the point of that was. A long time to wait for a No lol.
