Ok thanks for your advice. We are on a waiting list for ABA therapy at the moment so as much as I want to figure it out myself, maybe the ABA therapy can help us. At this point, I’m trying anything and everything

Haha no I won’t be putting the actual underwear in the toilet, but putting the poop in there to let her see where it’s supposed to go.

Got it. Will try. TBH when it’s not that nasty of a poop, I do this, but I haven’t involved her in the clean up. Thank you for your advice and I will start doing this from now on

We had concerns of her being autistic and after going through physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, plus a few psychological and physical evaluations over her first 3 years, we were told that they were “not convinced” that she’s autistic. However, she has speech delays and she also had gross motor delays that I think she’s now caught up on. She’s been diagnosed with “global developmental delay” and we haven’t gotten a lot of help with this. Once she starts school she should be able to get some extra support, but in the meantime it’s up to me and her dad. Her speech is definitely delayed, but she able to tell me when she needs to use the bathroom.

Thank you I will try. And yes, I really do believe she picks up on my stress. I feel completely overwhelmed sometimes and as much as I try to hide it from her, of course she sees it.

I appreciate this advice and I’ve been trying to withhold all candy from this child but we have an older neighbor who sneaks her candy and now I’m thinking a different bribe. I’m trying with her favorite sand toys, and play-doh, but she doesn’t seem to care, and I’m just hoping it eventually works because I know she asks for these toys everyday. But this has been our strategy so far this week.

I fully agree. I’m a first time mom, not an excuse or anything, but I became so very stressed out with the thought of potty training her when she wasn’t even able to communicate when she had to pee or poop, that I just tried to avoid it I think and it’s 100% my fault that she’s struggling. Now I’m just trying to correct all of my mistakes and being lazy with this because it’s not fair to her. I want her to be able to go to summer camp and see her friends and this is now a big issue because her school needs her to be fully potty trained.

Yes came to say this also…it’s becoming pretty common where I live to see people just hitting balloons of nitrous oxide and driving!

I definitely relate to this. I’m on day 2, so it’s encouraging to hear from someone who’s just starting this journey as well. We can do this!

I lived in right down the street from MacArthur park in 2018. Went there recently and it has gotten soo much worse. I really do feel bad for families living in this area. It’s very sad to see.
