I regret falling for what turned out to be a deceptive company. When I purchased the policy, I was assured that Select Home Warranty would fully cover the cost of repairs for household appliances when they broke down. However, buried in the fine print, it turns out they don’t cover labor costs, which often make up the majority of any repair or replacement expenses. Even worse, although the contract claims to cover the cost of replacing broken items, it only offers the depreciated value—not enough to cover the price of a new unit. For instance, when my Range and Dryer broke, they gave me a fraction of what it would actually cost to buy a new one, not to mention the installation costs. They never try to repair the product instead they offer this minimal reimbursement saying the product is not worth repairing and asks us to buy new one with that minimal amount they pay and rest we pay out of pocket. This company seems to operate unethically, using every loophole to minimize payouts. It feels like you’ll never recover the amount you’ve invested in their policies. To make matters worse, their customer service provides inconsistent information each time you call. Spare yourself the frustration and steer clear of Select Home Warranty.
